Part of being in rescue is trying to help stop abuse and educate the public. It has come to our attention in our own great State of Missouri that there is a 150 day Mule Make Over Event that has a competitor of questionable tactics. There seems to be a page dedicated to the antics of this gentleman. They call themselves survivors. Survivors of doing business with him. Reading through it seems he sells animals he claims are kids safe or dead broke for high amounts and the animals as not as he claims. Seems many have been severally injured and hospitalized. He doesn’t uphold his guarantees of money back or trade for a mule that works. Also looking through it the animals that he brings people many are not like the sales pictures. Most are thin and many injured without vet care. One even shows where he was using petroleum axle grease on an open leg wound claiming they have been using axel grease forever on wounds. Yes it was for centuries matter of fact, but was prior to petroleum’s and when axle grease was cooked down fat of cured meats. Many people still use bacon grease on wounds. So back to the subject. It seems the Gentleman Les Clancy is in charge of this event and is a Mule Trainer himself. Many people have contacted him about the training tactics and signs of health issues of the Mule and it seems to be falling on deaf ears. One Gentleman even offered to pay to have the Mule seen by a veterinarian and was horribly attacked for the offer.
I have put together a few clips of the videos that are being posted nn Mr. Bishops page and the Mule Make Over. Now I going to warn some things are a little distributing and we are asking no negative comments on his or the make over page. They will just block you anyway. However I would suggest that proper authorities be called and let the sponsors of this event know how you feel. Again we ask you to do so professional. Bashing and negativity
