We are looking for an enthusiastic, team player who is confident around horses to join our team.

This role would be suitable for either a work rider or yard person. Daily jobs can include mucking out, riding out, handling racehorses and general care of horses. Opportunities to go racing throughout the season. Racehorse experience is desirable but not essential as training can be given as horses build up fitness after their summer break.

Full time or part time hours and flexibility available for the right candidate. Ideally to start in August.

Based near Lilliesleaf in the Scottish Borders 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Looking for a new home 🏡 William is ready for another job as he doesn’t love racing anymore.

8 year old chestnut TB gelding - 16’3 well built and handsome lad. Nice mover and big jump. No injuries or vices. Lovely character who will make a nice all rounder and would be suited to an active home as still lots of life in him. Not a novice ride. ROR eligible.

A bright but windy day yesterday at Kelso 🏇 Pleased to see improvement from our two youngsters Beat The Boum and The Roc Hopper. Beat The Boum finished his race well to come 5th. Unfortunately The Roc Hopper was brought down due to another horse falling in front of him but he thankfully seems none the worse! A big learning experience for both of them.

Our star again was Eire Street who had us all shouting him home in the Go North Cab On Target final - just beaten but another fantastic run for 2nd and he is proving to be a huge amount of fun for the Northern Lights syndicate 💜

Any Job Will Do didn’t enjoy his trip as much but we are delighted to have everyone home safe and happy with their carrots 🥕

Fantastic day with Eire Street winning easily - a sweet horse who we bought in December scores on his second run for the yard. Delighted for the members of the Northern Lights Racing who deserve a change in luck. A great ride by Danny McMenamin who also rode his 200th winner today!

We have shares available in the Northern Lights Syndicate who have recently leased our newest addition - Eire Street. He placed in both his bumpers and looks to have a promising future. He raced at Kelso last week with Danny Mcmenamin on board who said he’ll be a fun club horse!

It’s been too cold to get your phone out and take pictures recently! All the horses are working away and we’ve been fortunate to have our straight gallop still functioning due to the super surface which hasn’t frozen. Now the temperature is coming back up, hopefully we will be able to get back racing soon 🏇

Another good day at our local track yesterday - Beat The Boum was a pleasing 3rd in his first hurdle on very testing ground!

Delighted for the new syndicate The Late Boumers which has a few spaces available if anyone is interested 🏇

Delighted with Guerneseys yard debut on Wednesday at Kelso - finishing strongly to take 2nd🥈 Thrilled for his connections URSA Major Racing Ltd and Partners!

Unfortunately Sputnik was a non-runner due to the continued snow through the day making the ground softer than he would have liked. He has an entry at Ayr next week so fingers crossed for that meeting to go ahead 🏇

Happy with all 3 of our runners from yesterday. Joie More and The Roc Hopper both made their hurdles debut with it being only their first and second time on the racecourse we couldn’t have been more pleased with their attitudes towards it all. A good learning experience for them both!

Sputnik then made a fantastic return to form with a solid round of jumping and a strong finish to come 3rd🥉Delighted for the members of our racing club and we hope for another fun season with them!

Well deserved carrots and time in the field today for them all 🥕
