🏇REQUEST FOR HELPERS🏇

The Buccleuch Point to Point require helpers at Friars Haugh next week to repair the track following the last meeting.

There is a group meeting on Monday & Wednesday 10:00-12:00, but help on any day next week would be welcomed.

The task involves treading in & sand filling holes which is essential ahead of the P2P on Saturday 8th March.

Any help would be much appreciated.

‼️ WE’RE HIRING ‼️

We are looking for a full time member of staff to join our family run team 🏇

Experience with racehorses is not essential but must be a confident rider and able to handle fit racehorses and young stock. This a great opportunity for a willing and competent rider. Daily jobs would include mucking out, riding, grooming and general care of horses. Opportunities to go racing. Day and half off a week, flexible holidays and good rates of pay.

Hello 2025 👋🏼

An enjoyable trip to Ayr today with Sir Gauzy and Canunclecani. Sir Gauzy made his debut and we are very pleased with his 4th. Canunclecani chased him home to be 5th which was a good improvement from his debut back in November. Well done to Sophie who had Canunclecani looking fab and got best turned out.

It’s always going to be a learning experience with young horses but these two have shown the right attitude.

🏇 Work rider needed 🏇

We are looking for someone to help cover a staff holiday from 3rd December for the week with some more cover likely in the new year. Ideally looking for someone who is able to ride work and has previous experience with fit racehorses - possibility of regular work for the right person. Flexible hours but ideally to ride out a few lots between 7.30am-11am. Might suit someone who has an existing job, a student or flexible other commitments.

Small friendly team, good rates of pay and lovely horses. Located near Lilliesleaf not far from Hawick.

A day at Kelso

A bright but windy day yesterday at Kelso 🏇 Pleased to see improvement from our two youngsters Beat The Boum and The Roc Hopper. Beat The Boum finished his race well to come 5th. Unfortunately The Roc Hopper was brought down due to another horse falling in front of him but he thankfully seems none the worse! A big learning experience for both of them. Our star again was Eire Street who had us all shouting him home in the Go North Cab On Target final - just beaten but another fantastic run for 2nd and he is proving to be a huge amount of fun for the Northern Lights syndicate 💜 Any Job Will Do didn’t enjoy his trip as much but we are delighted to have everyone home safe and happy with their carrots 🥕
