Pinky is a very unique little puppy with a heart of gold! She was rescued by a veterinarian and an artist in Texas, and is now recovering from her past.

THE STORY OF PINKY:

Hi, my name is Pinky! I am an 8-month-old pitbull and one sad day I lost my way. My knee hurt an awful lot, but before long, I met some nice humans who wanted to take care of me. I ended up at the Galveston County Animal Resource Center in Texas City. Everyone was so nice to me there and they even took my picture and posted it on Facebook because they knew I deserved a second

chance with a family who could care for me. The next day I was told that a veterinarian was coming to visit me. That sounded fun to me, so I was on my best behavior! So it took me about 30 seconds to win her over, and before long I was in the car with my new human who was taking me to meet my brothers and sisters! I was so excited, I peed in my crate! The day I went home for the first time was the best day of my life! The next day I went to see the orthopedic surgeon. He said my knee was broken and I needed surgery. My human agreed, so I stayed for surgery. Before the procedure, my doctors did a CT scan on my head - they said it was very abnormal, and that I was at a higher risk of developing problems in the future. I didn't notice anything different about me, but they're the experts! My surgery was a success, so I was able to come home after a few days. My human were told I had two seizures while I was there, and that I'd better see a neurologist. My human took me the next day to see him. He will run some more tests after I finish recovering from my knee surgery. In the meantime, I've been recovering well at home with my new Mommy. Thank dog I don't have to wear the big blue cone on my head anymore!
