These two are so fun!! Fun observation: I can tell they are becoming quite adorable little PEOPLE-CATS! “People-cat” (not sure if it’s a real definition) means that the cat is friendly around and also WANTS to be around people, a lot! They crave human attention, and will often follow their person/people around, beg for chin scratchies, may want to be held and desire to be in the same room with their family member(s). Some people-cats will even sleep on someone’s bed (if allowed). When Rusty & Woody first arrived, they were much more timid and shy. Rusty’s attempt to jump onto #UncleSprout Sprouty is less of the #Funcle (fun uncle) so far, and still displays patient and gentle interactions with the foster kittens. Both Rusty & Woody love following our family cats ( #formerfosterkittens ) around and nudging them, running under the big cats’ bellies and kinda looks like they’re searching for a momma cat to nurse them. Diego & #UncleBud are two of the mildest, sweetest kitties! This is supervised time, and I’ve seen over the past week how well interactions have gone. If Bud gets to a point of “I’m done with these littles”, he just heads to the door and gets let out. (It rarely happens, because Bud is such a gentle soul and likes the kittens). This is also teaching Diego (the grey and white kitten) boundaries within playtime. Notice the gentle swats from #UncleBud - he’s indicating that this is fun, and it’s playful interaction, as well as there are limits to the amount of biting you can do. It’s also why fostering and/or adopting two kittens (or more) is recommended: They have a natural need to play and bite and wrestle with each other; if they don’t have that, often they will bite the nearest human - not in a mean way, but a play-aggressive way. This is about as “calm” as we can keep them, after their neuter surgery. Woody & Rusty are now even more adorable ( #neuteriscuter ) and almost as active as ever. I hung out with them to monitor how they would do with recovery….They’re feeling great, with the awesome pain meds they were given! My daughter sat on the floor and they immediately began playing with paws under her leg. They’re also ADOPTABLE!
