Talbot Retriever Club Training Day March 29, 2025

The next TRC training day will be held Saturday March 29, 2025 at Jerry and Bobbi Harris’ Mallard Haven Farm near Golden Hill MD. Training will start at 9:00 am. A club banner will mark the entrance.

All retriever breeds are welcome.

Free to all handlers.

Non-members can join the Talbot Retriever Club the day of training with dues payment, e.g., $30.

Bring your own chair and lunch, snacks, etc. Members are required to help setup, throw, and cleanup.

The TRC will supply equipment and dead birds. No flyers.

Directions: Route 50 to Cambridge, take Route 16 to Church Creek, turn Left onto Route 335 and continue to Gootees' Marina. Turn Right at Gootees' and travel about 1.3 miles along Route 335. Mallard Haven Farm entrance is on the Left along Route 335. Look for signs to the event starting at Gootees'. For more information contact LJ Hindman 410.707.3204.

Hunt Test Saturday.

Ran my granddaughter’s boy, Suny, in the Susquehanna Retriever Club spring hunt test in Greenwood DE. He (SHR Yellowdog’s Run Red Devil Run JH) continues to advance in the hunt test game. Today he earned his Junior Hunting Retriever title. Thanks to landowner Joe Johnson, as well as the event judges, SRC member/workers and volunteers for a fun day with our dogs and friends.

My three girls “helping” put up 4x8’ bead board, ceiling panels in our kennel room. 7 years ago this date. L-R…River, Teal, and Keeper. Both River and Teal are gone now, having crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Keeper continues with our youngsters Pepper and Suny Boy.

Hunt Test Saturday.

Ran our young boy, Suny (SHR Yellowdog’s Red Devi Run) in the AKC spring hunt test hosted by the Free State Retriever Club in Greenwood DE. Thank you to the landowners, volunteers, judges, guns and First State RC members for a fun event. Good to see friends who share the interest in this sport. Suny Boy nailed his retrieves and earned another pass toward his next title.
