We survived the June 2024 heat wave! This week, it felt like work. It was not easy, but everyone stayed cool, hydrated, and happy. Thank goodness it’s over! 🥵

“Thanks for the grapes, lady!” 😉
In addition to a hummingbird feeder outside the kitchen window, I’ve got a little station for the fruit loving birds and have seen a Baltimore oriole several times enjoying oranges and grapes.
This feeder doesn’t have a baffle, guess it’s gonna need one now !

This sweet Golden mix girl is Molly, and she took to her first day of playgroup like she had been with us for years! 🐶😁 I can tell already that she’s going to be a great addition. All of the dogs were very sweet with her, and Beanie, of course, immediately started encouraging her to run amok, which she gladly did! Haha, I’ll be doing a bit of encouraging “ eeeaasy” play with these two!

While Puggle, Bean was jumping for joy LAST Thursday (all 4 feet off the ground! 😂) tomorrow is not looking so good for playgroup. We will certainly watch the weather in the morning, but from what I can see now it looks like it’s going to be very rainy during the midday! We will be in touch with everyone in the am.

Bluebirds! 🪺

I’m such a bird nerd, this made my 2023, a flock of 4 bluebirds visiting our feeders this morning! I bought and mounted an expensive bluebird house two years ago when we moved here, and have never seen any before today! I hope they’ll stay. 😍

And … good night everyone! Tomorrow’s playgroup will be a bit earlier, as Bruno has an afternoon vet visit for what might be (?) a yeast infection - he’s scratching his ears to distraction, poor guy.

Autumn Fun!

Sean had left with his dogs after play, and most dogs in my gang were starting to calm down and be ready to go home also, after a full hour of playing. As usual, however, my crazy little Basenji was still raring to go, lol. She seems to have even more energy now with the cooler weather… Lord, help me! 😈🐶😋

Feels like a Monday!

“Rainy day people don’t hide love inside, they just pass it on… “ Beanie is NOT a rainy day dog, but knows how to make up for a shortened outside play session, and for sure knows how to pass along the love, lol! 🤪😂☔️🌧️

She was a bit nervous at first, since our playgroup does not have this level of crazy, lol. But Beanie very quickly found her footing and had a wonderful time today at the Basenji meet up at Park-9 Dog Bar! 🤪

Nothing to do with dogs or cats, but Sean’s Irish music fans might appreciate him doing an impromptu song or two at our favorite Irish pub, The Irish Cottage tonight. It’s been a long time! (And the drinking song, Carrickfergus is, indeed, our wedding song, except no one was singing any lyrics, lol) It was just a beautiful violin solo .. a gorgeous song, and so appropriate for us. Ha!
