Spay and neuter clinic for all those that have been asking!
All information is on the flyer and you would need to contact them with any questions.
H & P Animal Alliance is a 501c3 non-profit that seeks to better the lives of animals through education and action. We do not do on site adoptions.

We have a low cost spay/neuter program, a transport program to help local adoptable dogs, and we supply vaccinations to local shelters. We are a small organization that pulls dogs in need from the overcrowded shelters in Ouachita County, Columbia County and surrounding areas. We work with other rescue groups to place dogs from our local shelters. We have a low cost spay and neuter program called S
NIP to help low income families with the cost of the procedure. Our adoption process includes an application, home check, vet check, and reference check. Our dogs are completely vetted, including spay or neutered, and microchipped.

Because of a foster home, Clover is learning how good life can be 🐶
We are a foster-based rescue and can only take in as many dogs as we have temporary homes for. Foster homes open up their heart and homes for a few weeks to a couple of months until we have an approved local adopter or we send to our northern rescue partners. You provide a safe and loving environment and we supply food and handle all vet care.

We are super excited about Paws and Pints this year!
We are completely volunteer based so all money that we raise goes right back to helping dogs 😍
Paws and Pints 2024 is set for Saturday Sept. 28th!
Food and hosting by Postmasters Grill and drinks by Native Dog Brewing, along with auction items by local and national companies, all come together for a fun night of raising money for our mission of helping dogs in need!
We pull dogs from shelters, have them seen by our vets, and either find them local homes or transport to our rescue partners. We also have a low cost spay and neuter program that helps low income families afford to have their pets spayed or neutered, a transport program that works with northern rescues to move adoptable dogs from our area to partner groups, and we supply vaccinations and testing kits to local pounds and shelters. We have no paid staff, few volunteers, and rely completely on donations to pay for vetting, transport costs (gas, health certificates, and crate fees), and our spay and neuter program. All money from fundraisers goes right back to helping animals in need!
Julian is still looking for a foster angel!
Julian has been in boarding waiting for a foster for a month. Not only is extended boarding not good for a dog, but the expense of boarding is draining our reserves.
We need to get this boy out of boarding ASAP.
Julian is around 50 lbs and does have lots of young dog energy so he'll need a foster that can keep up with him on walks.
For more information, email us at [email protected].
It's a puppy pound break!
We were able to get one of the pups out Monday (he was neutered same day) and the other two today ❤️
Thanks to Trishy for getting them to boarding!
We have sooooo many puppies and adult dogs that we would like to get out of local pounds and shelters but we need foster homes in order to do so.
For more information on fostering, email us at [email protected].
It's National Dog Day!!
Even though we don't really need a holiday to celebrate our four-legged pooches, it's always nice to have an excuse to show them off even more 😍
Help make our day brighter and drop pics of your doggos in the comments!
We have a transport date for these three guys, their sibling who's already in a foster home, and their mother who is in a foster home but we need a place for them to crash for 2 weeks!
Local clinics are full for boarding spots because of the holiday coming up and we need to get these guys out of the pound.
If you would like more information, email us at [email protected].
Buttercup, mom to the pups we've been working to get out of a local pound, made her pound break Thursday evening.
We never leave the moms behind! If we are trying to get the puppies out, the mama is coming too ❤️ Sometimes it's harder to find fosters for the adult dogs, but we are lucky that we do have a few fosters who prefer taking adults. Even luckier for Buttercup one of those had just become available.
Just as a reminder, we are a foster-based rescue. That means that unless we have an approved foster home we cannot take a dog in. We work with local pounds and shelters to get dogs out and into local homes or transport to our rescue partners. Our transport program has slowed down tremendously and we are not getting as many out which then means we can't take as many in. We are continuously reaching out to rescues who share the same beliefs as we do in hopes that we can take on new partners. In the meantime, please spay and neuter your pets. There are not enough homes in our area for the amount of dogs that are being born.
***** We still need fosters for three of Buttercup's pups. If you would like information on fostering, please email us at [email protected].
Once we get these guys into fosters we have a long list of dogs to keep working on. It never stops, but we won't give up on them. We are their voice ❤️

Littles available for adoption through Ouachita County Animal Protection Society!
These girls are needing a home where they can be together.
For more information reach out to OCAPS.
Clover made his pound break today and is headed to the vet to be neutered 🐶
We are still needing foster homes in order to pull any more.

FILLED!
Driver needed to get a dog from Camden to El Dorado Animal Hospital this afternoon. You would just need to pick up and drop-off, no need to stay and wait :)
Please send us a message if you can help.
Foster homes needed!
THESE ARE JUST A HANDFUL OF DOGS IN A LOCAL POUND THAT NEED OUT!
We have more pictures of dogs and puppies in need, but we're trying to help get these guys first.
If you would like information on fostering, please email us at [email protected]. We pay for all vetting, food, and we can supply a crate as well!

Can you foster me?
I was born at the pound and some of my siblings and my mom are still here.
H & P Animal Alliance said that they want to help us but they need something called a foster home first.
They said that a foster would get us out of the pound and into a home where we would have air conditioning and a soft bed and lots of love! They also said they will help us find our FURever home. Oh my goodness, a home is what we dream about every night! A family to call our own ❤️
They also said they buy all the food we need and pay for all our vet care needs so our foster family doesn't have to purchase anything. All they have to do is just love on us and keep us safe.
My mom and siblings are praying that a foster home steps up for us. Could that be you?
Four dogs boarded the puppy bus this evening headed to their new lives!
Big thanks to Geri and Elaina for taking time out of their day and volunteering to transport!
As a foster-based rescue organization we depend on people opening their homes and hearts to temporarily foster dogs from our local pounds and shelters until we can transport them to our rescue partners or find them local homes. Because we know well meaning people can get over their heads by continuing to take dogs that they have no resources or place to house, we have to be careful to make sure we do not put ourselves in that position. In order for us to pull a dog we have to have a foster home for it.
If you would like more information on fostering, email us at [email protected].
We have been working on a transport that will be able to take puppies from our local shelters but we MUST have foster homes in between us taking them in and them transporting.
We will be posting pictures in a few days of the dogs that need fosters.
Please keep checking back in with us and please consider fostering!
We supply everything you need including food and we handle all the vet care for that animal.
Kora started her new adventure today and loaded the puppy bus headed to our friends on the East Coast 🥰
She's the sweetest girl and we know her family is going to be super excited to have her!
We are working through applications for our low-cost spay and neuter program for pet owners in Columbia and Ouachita counties.
There are so many puppies and adult dogs in our local shelters that need homes. We do not need anymore!
Please spay and neuter!
We need foster homes.
So many are depending on us to help get them out of local pounds and shelters.
Can you help?
An innocent life is counting on you.
We can help, but we need foster homes!
Foster homes provide a temporary, safe and loving place for a dog in need until they transport to our northern rescue partners.. Fostering can take from 2 weeks to months until a home is found. We pay for all vetting needs, food, toys, treats and we supply a crate. We take care of everything you need!
For more information on fostering, email us at [email protected].
It's transport day for Marvin!
We know his new family is going to adore him as much as we do ❤️
Super thankful for the Collins family for fostering!
We are always in need of foster homes. If you would like more information on our program and how you can help, please email us at [email protected].
Ziggy started his heartworm treatment yesterday. He will return to the vet in 30 days for his second shot followed by his third the next day.
Ziggy will have to stay calm during treatment so say a prayer for his foster family as they try to contain all of his zoomie glory 😁
It doesn't happen often, but we actually have a picture of Declan sitting still 😄
We love this little guy and are enjoying watching his progress in his foster home.
Big thanks to the McKay family for fostering Declan ❤️ Foster homes are the backbone of our rescue and we couldn't do what we do without them!
We have lots of puppies and adult dogs that are just waiting for foster homes to open up so we can pull them into our program. We supply food, crate, toys, treats, and we pay for all vet care. Foster homes offer a safe, loving, and patient home while the dog is waiting to be adopted locally or transport to our sister rescues.
If you would like more information on fostering, email us at [email protected].
Happy Dogust!
Dogust, which takes place Aug. 1 each year, is a nationwide celebration for dogs whose birthdays are unknown. It’s been a holiday since 2008, when staff at the North Shore Animal League America of New York set out to ensure even dogs without official birthdays still get their own special day.
In celebration of our adopted puppers show us pics of your precious pooches!
As a foster-based rescue we can only take in as many dogs as we have foster homes for and as many dogs as our resources will allow.
One of our outreach programs is to purchase vaccinations, dewormer, and supplies for local pounds/shelters that do not have a budget for those items. Our hope with this program is that dogs and puppies can get the vaccinations and medications that they need to stay healthy in that environment until we are able to take them or they find their forever homes We are able to continue this program because of donations from our wonderful followers and supporters, fundraisers, and grants!
Thank you to everyone for helping us continue our mission of helping homeless animals in our area! Please spay and neuter and please choose adoption when you're ready to welcome a four-legged family member into your life ❤️
The pictures speak for themselves on how far Marvin has come! He has healed from his neuter surgery and next week he will board the puppy bus heading to our friends at LHK9 where we know they are going to be lined up for this baby!
Super thankful for his amazing fosters, the Collins family ❤️ and for those who have donated towards his care. It takes a village and we have a wonderful one 😍
She may have a little gray on her muzzle, and she may only have three legs, but that doesn't slow Bobbie Joe down!
We were alerted about Bobbie Joe from our local shelter after she had been found at a residence with an injured leg. After evaluation from our vet it was determined the best thing to do was to have it amputated. After just a few days, she was back up and going strong!
Bobbie Joe is 10 lbs and is in a foster home with other dogs and does great. She is perfectly fine cuddled up in your lap or in her own bed. Bobbie Joe has met some cats and was interested but calm and just sniffed them and moved on.
She does have heart disease and is heartworm positive and will require medication the rest of her life. Due to her age, she is on prevention but not able to go through hard treatment. We will continue to evaluate her and if our vets decide differently we will change our course of treatment.
We understand that finding an older dog with medical issues a home is a lot to ask, but she still has so much life and love to give we have to try ❤️.
If you would like more information on adopting Bobbie Joe, email us at [email protected].

Our Marvelous Marvin was neutered last week and is doing great! He's thriving in his foster home and will be heading north soon for his forever home ❤️ Marvin shows that they're all worth it! We didn't give up on him and now he's this wonderful ball of puppy energy and love 🐕 Unfortunately, like so many rescues now, we have not been able to take in as many as we have in the past. Adoptions are not there, out-of-state transfers have slowed to a trickle, and more and more puppies are being born without homes. Please spay and neuter your animals! There are not enough homes!
Video update on Marvin! From a pup on deaths door, to getting healthy and sassy, our little Marvin is doing wonderful ❤️ We have posted his intake picture in the comments Big thanks to his foster family!
Marvin made it through the night. His temperature dropped overnight, but it is back up so he was given breakfast that he was interested in ❤️
Ziggy received a blood transfusion today and is fighting to get better. While he was receiving blood he decided to play with one of his toys and we wanted to share ❤️ Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared and sent us positive messages of hope for Ziggy! Big love to HPAA alum Rickey for being our donor doggo 🐶 https://www.facebook.com/100065013420994/posts/817384930438614/
Our vaccination clinic this morning had cars lined up to the street at Carnes Park! Big thank you to Dr. Field for donating her time and administering the vaccinations today!
Go, Jaxx, Go! Our little Jaxx is surprising us daily with his improvements and is even walking on his own a little! We don't know if he'll ever walk normally, but we will continue to keep working with him and doing everything we can to help him have as close to normal a life as he can. In addition to therapy, we will also be sending Jaxx for an MRI and purchasing a back brace for him. Information on the back brace will be posted in the comments. If you would like to help contribute to his brace and continued therapy, you can make a donation through this post, or PayPal us at [email protected].
The pup we asked for name suggestions at the beginning of the week has settled into his foster home. Ater going over all of the name suggestions we have narrowed it down to Oliver or Chip ❤️ This little guy has come a long way! He loves to play with his toys and the resident doggos 🐕 and has been so good in his foster home! As he gets healthier and older we will have more of an understanding on what his needs are concerning his mobility. In the meantime, he's happy, playful, and doing great! We have taken in two other medical cases in the last few days and we will get their stories posted soon.
Our annual Give A Dog A Bone Treat and Toy fundraiser donation box is set up at Camden Animal Hospital! You can drop off treats or toys at any time and we, along with Santa Paws, will pass them out to all the dogs in local shelters on Christmas Eve. Take your picture after dropping off treats or toys and tag us on Facebook for a chance to win a doggy gift basket!! #hpaa
Our sweet Jaxx is learning to navigate in his wheelchair and he's doing great! He got to visit with Santa Paws Saturday and he even picked out his own treat bag ❤️ We love this little guy and are committed to helping him medically and with finding his forever home. Thank you Lauren with Native Dog Brewing for getting the super sweet video of Jaxx walking up to Santa Paws 🥰 Jaxx is in a foster home and is going to be all set for Christmas Day, but he wants to remind everyone about all of the homeless dogs and kitties in our local pounds and shelters. Our annual Give A Dog A Bone Toy and Treat Fundraiser will kick off this week with our donation box being set up at Camden Animal Hospital. We will be accepting toys and treats that will be passed out to local shelters and we've heard that Santa Paws is coming back to make those deliveries! As soon as we have our box set up we will post pictures and then we can begin accepting donations. Thank you to everyone who helps us help them ❤️
Paint Your Pet 🐕 and pictures with Santa Paws will be held Dec. 2! Save the date! More information coming soon!
He's cute as can be, happy about everything, and he's not going to let his inability to walk affect that! Jaxx was diagnosed with cerebellar hypoplasia, a disease that denotes an inadequate development of the cerebellum, a section of the brainstem largely responsible for modulating motor impulses. Affected dogs and cats therefore fail to move normally, especially when it comes to maintaining normal balance, posture, and coordination. Dr. Mitchell believes that a wheelchair will help Jaxx so that's what we are going to do ❤️ Thanks to a private donor covering the cost, we hope to have that ordered by the end of the week! We also found out today that Shiloh, another foster pup in our care, has bilateral luxating patellas that will require surgery. Because of the support from our fundraiser, Paws and Pints, we will be able to cover that surgery in full!
