It's transport day for our 🐕 friends!

Two dogs from OCAPS were selected to transport to our Northern rescue friends. We have their health certificates ready and they will board the puppy bus tonight. ❤️

Lots of puppy kisses were received today when we visited the Camden City Pound and vaccinated wiggly, adorable puppers 🐶

We would love to bring more dogs into our program, but we need foster homes to do so. Foster families are the bridge between shelter life and a forever home. They provide a safe and loving space until the dog is adopted locally or we transport to our northern rescue partners. Without fosters, we are unable to pull any new dogs into our rescue. We supply everything you need!

Frappe joined the no puppies club today!

This little guy is now neutered and will be heading to his foster home later this week.

Starting the week off with a Pupdate!

Sabrina was with us for over 200 days and transported to her forever home last year. We've been receiving wonderful updates since she arrived and we wanted to share some of those with you.

She has two humans and a four-legged companion that adore her. Her canine sibling, Rio, was adopted from a different organization and is happy to have another friend to run and play with.

Thank you for choosing to adopt and giving an adult dog the life she deserves ❤️

After our transport this morning a few of our volunteers attended the Best Friends Animal Society seminar in Little Rock.

We spoke with other shelters and rescue volunteers about the obstacles they come up against and how we as a society can work to resolve the problem of pet overpopulation instead of killing innocent dogs and cats just to make space.

We have a lot of work to do in our area and we are committed, as always, to help those without a voice ❤️

We started the morning driving to Little Rock to get Harley on his journey to Montana!

Twenty five people will be involved in his transport over the next week. He will hang out for a week in Colorado and then continue on his journey to his forever home ❤️

We are thankful so many people cared enough to help him on his way and we know he's going to love Montana weather!

Safe travels big guy! We're going to miss your wonderful personality, cuddles, and even the drool 😆

Earlier this week we were alerted about two older dogs whose owner was going into a nursing home and there was no other person able to take his dogs in.

We made a few calls, and even though all of our foster homes are full, we figured out how to make it work. These two sweet babies are now with us and settling in. ❤️

Because of their ages, they do have more health issues that need to be monitored. One has a significant heart murmur and is heartworm positive and the other has skin issues. All of this is being addressed as we are learning about their personalities.

Our sweet Mimi crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon.
She started struggling and was rushed to the vet. Under his advice we gave her peace.
We don't know what Mimi's life was like before, but based on her condition it couldn't have been wonderful.
What we do know is that for the last few months she was spoiled beyond belief, and loved immensely by all who knew her.
We are going to miss her funky wobble, her slobbery kisses, and her absolutely adorable pouty face.
Special thanks to her foster family who made sure she had everything she needed and then some .
No more pain, sweet Mimi. We will see you at The Bridge 💔

More spay and neuter vouchers are being mailed out this weekend!

Our spay and neuter program is for low income pet owners who need a little help with the cost of the procedure. Interested pet owners request an application through email, [email protected]. The application has all the information needed on what to do next. Once we receive the application back, we will review and determine if the applicant meets the guidelines for the program. If so, we will send out a voucher with all the information on how to contact participating veterinarians.

He can be a little timid upon first meeting, but within a few minutes he's snuggling up looking for loves 😍

Frappe was in a kennel with Terrance, who is heading to foster Monday, and Bear, who transported out of state last week. Since his buddies have left he's been lonely. We would love to help get him out of the shelter and into a foster home.

We are doing a multi-leg transport for Harley and there are still openings for people to help get him on his way. Multi-leg transports are where long distances are divided up into a couple of hour transports until the dog arrives at his destination. With Harley traveling to Montana, there are still a lot of transport spots needing to be filled 🚙

Terrence was neutered today and is still in need of a foster home. He is 15 lbs (but should be closer to 20 lbs), about 9 to 10 months old, and current on his vaccinations.
