While we don’t regularly transport or seek out out of state adopters… sometime they arise and you know it’s absolutely the best home! Naomi has been a long termer with her foster mom who reached out to us to see about helping her finish her vetting and find the perfect home. Naomi is shy and not super social but has made great strides. Because of yet another petfinder glitch, she was posted in Oregon as opposed to our Texas location!

Lo and behold an adopter in Boise Idaho saw her and reached out. Many many conversations and we knew this was the perfect home! And, turns out a wonderful friend, Delia Faulk McLinden had moved to Boise awhile back! So we reached out and sure enough she had a trip back to Dallas planned ….

Today is Naomi’s day finally! She is about to board and be on her way to her wonderful new Mom!

So grateful and it indeeed takes a village!

Dallas, TX

Ramona & Naomi are a bonded precious pair ready for their new home! She was brought to their foster’s home late one evening by a neighbor who found them huddled against the curb on a cold night. Both girls were terrified, crawling with fleas, and so, so thin. They sure landed at the right foster home! They were bathed set up for the night in a crate with food and warm blankets. It took quite a bit of work to get Ramona& Naomi to come out of their shells, but now are both pure machines and very chatty!!

Our sweetest Carter is ready for his big dental surgery coming up on the 31st! Carter is one of the original sanctuary cats and was adopted out twice as a kitten and both times returned. We don’t risk three strikes and if a kitty is returned twice for behavior or health, then they typically stay with the sanctuary.

Carter’s dental is going to be upwards of $900-1200 and we have so far raised less than $200. Any help is so appreciated and donations can be made via Venmo

Let us introduce you to Sylvie! This young girl was found outside of Salem and with no help available, her finders reached out and we’re happy to foster this pretty girl!

Sylvie is only about 9-10 months and is so unique with her Tortie Tuxedo look!

Our mama girl Sally has had some ongoing strange respiratory stuff … no drainage but some wheezing since she came to us! Her babies are all adopted sans one and it’s Sally’s turn but we need to make sure she’s healthy and all clear! We always appreciate any help with our medicals ….

Dumpling is losing her home and must have a place to land in the next few weeks. We have her posted and is with Quirky Cats Sanctuaries when we were asked to help find a home after she was vetted.

Unfortunately the males in the current home of the finder are not accepting her and she needs a new landing spot.

Landing spot as a home or foster in the DFW AREA, please let us know!!!!

Harper is a one-of-a-kind kitty with a heart full of love and a spirit that never gives up. This adorable furball is deaf and has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), but that doesn’t stop her from living life to the fullest!
About Harper:
Age: 2 years old
Breed: Domestic Shorthair
Special Needs: Deaf and has CH
Personality: Harper is a bundle of joy who loves to cuddle and purr her way into your heart. Despite her challenges, she’s incredibly playful and curious. She enjoys exploring her surroundings and playing with her favorite toys, especially those that move or have bright colors.
Favorite Activities:
Chasing feather wands
Snuggling on the couch
Watching birds from the window
Getting gentle head scratches
Why Harper is Special: Harper may need a little extra care, but she gives back so much more in return. Her determination and zest for life are truly inspiring. She gets around just fine, even with her wobbly walk, and her deafness means she won’t be startled by loud noises. Welcome our newest quirky cat, Harper who has mild CH! Sometimes called “wobbly cat syndrome”, it is not progressive and we love our CHers here at QCS!

Harper is being fostered in Denton, TX and will very soon be ready for her new home!

We first saw and tried to save this pretty girl when she was at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control north campus back in May! She was reclaimed by her owners at that time, but evidently they didn’t think a CH girl needed to be inside only and once again she was scooped up by animal
Control. Lucky for Harper, the phone number connected to the chip is no longer working and she will never have to worry about being outside again!

She is super sweet and loves kids and also small dogs!

Meet Sally in Salem, OR. Sally was living in a field being fed by a community Good Samaritan. They reached out to us and some of you may recognize her sweet face as we were on the hunt for a foster to get her safely indoors. Sometimes it’s the best we can do although in this case the best we could have done is to have gone ahead and vetted her - even if it was TNR. We now have her safely indoors with a wonderful foster family - and Sally is now about to POP! Fortunately her incredibly foster family is excited at fostering a mama and babies and so soon we will have Sally’s family to share…. Stay tuned for more on this sweet Mama! Sally makes biscuits wherever she is even in the air!

Keizer, OR This social young girl has been either dumped or lost in Keizer in a field near Shady Lane and Sallenger. Shes small and likely under a year, not chipped and has been posted for several days on the lost Lost and Found Pets of Salem Oregon page with nothing. We are happy to support her with Quirky Cats Sanctuaries but cannot bring her in without a foster who can commit to holding and caring for her until adopted. All of our rescues are so full and we just can’t help without fosters. She needs to be vetted as she also has a cutaneous horn on her toe bean… Please email [email protected] if willing to help!

Big big thank you to Furry Friends Washington that took in these two scared and sweet ones whose human had died. Quirky Cats Sanctuaries was full to the brim and no available fosters and they didn’t hesitate to help! Rescues working together ! Grateful

Maverick has officially joined the gen pop at our Oregon headquarters! He is still figuring out his way and we are delighted to have him. He’s got a lot going on and had bloodwork done today - poor guy is missing some canines and back teeth and needs to build his strength. We think he may have some birth defects along with having CH and we will sort out what we can and love him regardless!

Buddha Update from his new Mom! He is the best boy ever!😸 I absolutely love how affectionate he is, and, lets me be. He ate his dinner sitting in my lap 😂 after, he laid on me getting endless pets and purring the whole time. My sisters met him yesterday and love him as well. He has warmed up so nicely! He really exceeded my wants/expectations, he’s the perfect fit for me 🧡

Life at headquarters!

Dallas TX Formally welcome Cade (gray brown tabby) and Gabe (white face) to our rescue! For those that followed, these two babies were found in a tied up Tote sadly with a third deceased kitty inside. There is an ongoing investigation with 8 other cats being held at DAS. These two have been cleared to stay in rescue and finally On the road to their happy ever after! They are approx 8-10 months are fully vetted now. They are safe with temp foster and we still Desperately need a longer term Foster for them - they can also be adopted separately but preferably together! https://quirkycats.org/adoption-application
