I felt today, a presence near
Though I saw not your face,
A wisp of something special then
That cannot be erased.

I knew my spirit stirred because
The joy I felt was deep,
And I knew that upon this day
You'd stirred from Heaven's sleep.

I dared not look or stare too long
The moment urged true peace,
And I just let my heart relax
And time itself did cease.

I closed my eyes and took a breath
My spirit lifted free,
And as I felt you flutter by
I held you close to me.

Eternity cannot compete
With moments such as these,
The fluttering of hearts combined
Upon a loving breeze.

And now I know because of you
As gentle wings sweep high,
That life goes on in different ways
..I felt you flutter by.
