The Wild Soul Humans Used to Have
We tend to think that animals are lower than ourselves, but all of the scientists in the world could not design and operate a bumblebee's wing. We can't run or jump very fast and we can't carry vast weights like an ant can. We can't see in the dark, and we can't fly except crammed into a noisy tube like sardines, which doesn't count.
Humans compared to animals are almost totally deaf, nearly blind and almost without any sense of smell. We are finite and separate and neurotic while an animal's consciousness is at peace and eternal. We strive and go crazy trying to be more important - than animals and also more important than eachother. Greed and waste and war mark this age. The Age of Humans. Animals rest and sleep and enjoy eachother's company. We think we have evolved upwards, but we have lost almost all of the qualities and abilities animals have.
The idea that they don't have consciousness or that they do not have a soul is rather crass and shows a lack of consciousness on OUR part.
They talk, they have families they feel things, they act individually, or together to solve problems and often care for their young as a tribal unit. They play, they travel, they medicate themselves when they get sick. They cry when others in the herd die. They know about us humans. Through instinct. Through collective consciousness, if not individual experience.
We humans take the longest, most arduous way 'round to come to the most basic knowledge which animals have obtained through instinct - because they have no choice but to trust their instinct - something the human race gave up when they gave up their own wild souls.
Of course animals have souls. Wild and pristine the likes of which mankind will never know again. We should be humbled by animals.
