Cat toys do not have to be expensive to be enjoyed.
Remember to make your cat his or her own peekaboo box. One of our volunteers made this for her cats Fiela and Bella. Instructions: one box not too deep; holes cut out; throw in some ping pong balls. Important: DO NOT SPRINKLE CATNIP IN THE BOX (else your efforts will be soon be destroyed ;) ) Please send us videos of your own peekaboo boxes in the comments below.
We are so extremely grateful, a heartfelt thank you to Orijen Acana South Africa and Pack Leader Pet Products for this amazing generous donation of food!

“A sister is someone who loves you from the heart, no matter how much you argue, you cannot be drawn apart. She is a joy that cannot be taken away, once she enters your life, she is there to stay.” — Shiva Sharma
Look who is ready for adoption - stud muffin SPOCK, grumpy jumpin bean FIGARO, hiss&kiss MOUSE and small fry SKIDMARK ❤️🌈🧸⚡️👏🏻
How freaking cute are these KITTENS? 👯👯
The “Webber wildings” siblings was found inside an empty forsale house in Parklands North. Moma cat astray herself, hid them so well inside a pizza compartment of the Webber for weeks.
This photo perfectly summarises the cookout kittens, the lil feral friends who are being socialized are happy, healthy and well-adjsuted.
These perfect besties are ready to find their purr-ever family, they will be ready for adoption in MARCH.
Let’s spread the word as far as we can for these sweet babies, who have overcome so much since being rescued as infants.
SPOCK the handsome green-eyed fella is absolutely loaded with charisma aka super chill dude. He’s having a blast exploring his life outside the digs! It’a impossible not to notice right away that he’s got swagger aka “Katjie van die baan”. He is a total nature fondie, just loves to watch & investgate every moving little character crawling passed with his older cat pel "aka male mom". He’s a confident explorer who loves to pounce and play, but melts into your arms once he’s ready for a nap. ♥️

FIGARO is a total jumpin’ bean, he dances like no one’s watching. And when he gets what he wants, he doesn’t let go...ever. He would definitely be the high school flyhalf—a hunky, athletic boy who has more brawn than brains and a total cartoon addict, just loves to watch whimsical stories on the tablet. This silly-act boy who has such a giant heart, and more comedic genius than any stand up comedian. He puts on the

Today we give recognition to Annie Mgoleka who we cannot do without at The Hope Foundation for Cats. For three years she has been part of our lives and those of the cats. Yesterday we thought it very fitting to ask her to do the draw ... she did it with her usual beautiful smile and composure. Put the sound on and listen to her commentary ... it's special.

(We hope you enjoy the slideshow)
A roller coaster journey this was indeed. On 29 January 2018 our gate bell rang. An estate manager at a complex found a cat in a container at his office when he arrived for work. Emaciated, matted fur covered with sticky substance and an abcess on his paw. Kasper was not eating and his weight just over 3kg. He was admitted to hospital and put on a drip. Blood tests followed which all came back negative. We had to get his weight up to have a biopsy done on the massive ulcer on his tongue (see slideshow). Fearing the worst that it may be cancer. The results came back as " Feline eosinophilic granuloma complex (EGC) is a common inflammatory skin disease of cats, which consists of a group of eczema-like lesions that affect the skin, mucocutaneous junctions, and oral cavity." Well ... after a long stay at Bergzicht Animal Hospital under the expert care of Dr Claude Deyzel and his team, Kasper was discharged a couple of days ago and he is doing great. Eating like a horse and demanding human attention. We have to say that he is a bit of a fussy eater with very good taste. This will still be a journey with Kasper and his cute floppy ear. We will keep you all posted after the follow-up appointment with Dr Claude. If anyone is able and willing to be Kasper's monthly sponsor we will appreciate it so much. Thank you for all the interest shown for Kasper (with a 'K') - The Team ###

Cara and Shan
WE ARE READY FOR OUR OWN LOVING HOME!
Early December 2017 and a call came through from Mamre informing us about two kittens found in an empty plot behind a shop in Mamre. Arrangements were made to get them to our vet immediately. Weighing 400 and 440 g these two kittens were malnourished, suffered from snuffles and conjunctivitis. They were put in isolation and medicated. The fight was on to save Cara's one eye. We were also fortunate to have Madeli Raisen Endrich on the other side of the phone offering her support and advice. Well Shan and Kara are doing very well and are ready for that special home where they will be treasured and given the best life possible. Two beautiful little rascals ... please inbox us for an application form if you are that special person. Strict adoption rules apply
Motherly love
Every kitten needs a mom ... even if they have to borrow her from another litter. Lexi, a stray cat found behind a hotel with her litter in Durbanville is an amazing mom. She took over caring for our two Mamre kittens as well. Here she is grooming our little Mamre rescue. Lexi will be a wonderful addition to a loving home.
