There is sad overpopulation of companion animals in Australia which leads to around 25,000 cats and kittens being "put to sleep" annually in NSW alone, based on local government statistics. PCNSW endeavours to share the plight of NSW pound/shelter cats in order to find them homes or rescue organisations. We believe that the numbers of cats that enter pounds and other organisations such as the RSPC

A, and die there, can be reduced through change, and enforcement, of relevant legislation, and through a change in our culture and belief systems. A culture that did not believe animals were expendable would be more prepared to stand up for the right of an animal born, to also live out its life. We believe the solution to the overpopulation of companion animals that plagues Australia lies with us all - in the community. We are not a pound or shelter, nor do we represent pounds or shelters in any way. Any views expressed on this page are our own, or those of our friends, and are not those of the pounds/shelters. Do you Recognise me???

This sweet big boy has been at our animal shelter since 30/06/2025.

He was found outside Green cross vet Caringbah and brought into to us by a vet nurse. He is very sweet and friendly. Unfortunately, we cannot reach owner with details on microchip and was not wearing a tagged collar. Please share in hopes to find his home.

Cat Volunteers Wanted!

Looking for a reason to get out of bed and out of the house this winter? Love cats a little too much? You're in the right place!

We’re on the lookout for weekday cat volunteers to help us shower our cats with love, playtime, and cuddles. These aren’t just any cats, they’re homeless kitties who could really use some extra TLC while they wait for their forever homes.

Whether you're a seasoned cat whisperer or just love a good head boop, we’d love to have you on board.

How much time do I need to commit?
At least one shift per fortnight, for at least six months.
Keen to volunteer more often? You're absolutely welcome to do more!

*All volunteers must be aged 18 or over*

Handsome Gerald is a confident, affectionate kitty ready for his forever home!

This sweetheart has very simple requirements for his fur-ever home: lots of pats and cuddles, tasty food (yes, he’s indeed a foodie!) and a loving family to hang out with of course!

Sweet Gerald absolutely adores hanging out with his human friends whether that’s soaking up all the love and attention he can get, a fun game with his toys or simply watching his humans go about their day - it’s all well and good with Gerald!

At this stage, Gerald would prefer to be the sole feline king of his castle for now.

Gerald is looking for an indoor only home for his safety and wellbeing as well as to protect his fair features.
