There is sad overpopulation of companion animals in Australia which leads to around 25,000 cats and kittens being "put to sleep" annually in NSW alone, based on local government statistics. PCNSW endeavours to share the plight of NSW pound/shelter cats in order to find them homes or rescue organisations. We believe that the numbers of cats that enter pounds and other organisations such as the RSPC

A, and die there, can be reduced through change, and enforcement, of relevant legislation, and through a change in our culture and belief systems. A culture that did not believe animals were expendable would be more prepared to stand up for the right of an animal born, to also live out its life. We believe the solution to the overpopulation of companion animals that plagues Australia lies with us all - in the community. We are not a pound or shelter, nor do we represent pounds or shelters in any way. Any views expressed on this page are our own, or those of our friends, and are not those of the pounds/shelters. 1 Year Old DSH

Lilo came to shelter as an un microchipped stray with her feline friend STITCH and unfortunately was never reclaimed. She is a very sweet natured little lady who can be shy when she first meets you however, she doesn't take long to warm up to you and loves a snuggle. She is litter trained, keeps her cage clean and appears to like other cats in our cattery. She would suit a quiet home where she can take time to decompress and adjust to her new surroundings.

Her adoption fee is $215 which includes desexing, microchipping, vaccinations, health check, worm and flea treatment and lifetime registration.

Am I your lost kitty?

I got lost and now I am at the pound. Cats Friends said that I am a delightfully cute little orphan who appears to have come in with 3 siblings (who are also very cute). They think that Sparkle #2819 may be our mum? They said that I don't have a gender listed as yet so they will name me when I do ❤️

Leebit has been at the animal shelter since 30/11/2024.

Leebit arrived to us scared and confused, unsure why he ended up in such a noisy, busy environment.

With gentle love and care, Leebit is slowly but surely getting more comfortable with humans and their touch, he is still a little shy but is coming out of his shell.

Leebit enjoys curling up in his comfy blankies and having a good stretch on his cat tree while doing some window watching. He likes gentle, soothing pats.

Despite his shy nature, Leebit may be open to sharing his home with a feline friend or two, provided a slow, cat-friendly introduction is followed to ensure they will get along.

Leebit is looking for an indoor-only home with a patient and loving family who will give him the TLC and patience he needs to continue to come out of his shell.
