Happy Friday’s Eve!
I know I’ve been MIA lately, and honestly it was in mental/emotional preparation for my “See You Soon” post. 😔
I don’t want to call it a “goodbye” post, because I FULLY plan to be back as soon as I can be!
However, due to many factors in my personal and work-life, I unfortunately need to take a break from my business for a few months.
I’m very hopeful I will be able to pick up where I left off (and potentially start up with some new clients!) with all my regulars, I’m just not sure when that will be.😕
BUT
Life’s path is full of twists and turns, and this is just another pit stop in mine. 🥰
SO
On a positive note, here are all the lovely souls I’ve met along the way who have made my journey as a small business owner so fulfilling.♥️
I love them all so much my heart could burst!🖤

Happy Fridays-Eve!
I was very blessed to see several of my business babies this week!:)
I worked on many things with each of them, but with all of them I worked on their “sit, lay down, stay“, particularly in exciting and/or stressful situations!☺️
This both stimulated them mentally, by having them work hard to calm their state of mind when it’s most hard to; and reinforced the idea that they should always work to be in that calm, relaxed state no matter the circumstance.🥰
Practice makes perfect, and they all pushed through our hard work together with happy, smiling faces.🖤
I hope their cuteness brightens your day as much as it does mine.😉♥️

Time for a LONG overdue update!
Life is busy, and sometimes I get so caught up in my time with all of these wonderful babies that I forget to post about them!😉 But let’s me honest, they deserve the hype.🥰
Here’s some pics from our adventures lately! I hope it brightens your Monday!🖤

Happy Thursday!:)
All of my business babies worked on their “sit, lay down, stay” today; and they all rocked it!😍
I realized it had been a while since we had refreshed on it so I thought it would be good to focus on this specific training tool today:) I had them practice in high-volume areas so they could decompress around new sights, smells, and noises🥰 They all thoroughly enjoyed their "lay down, stay" time outside in the beautiful sunshine this morning!♥️

P.S. The last picture is my boys after their walk this morning, just Bcs I think they’re cute😉🥰

Happy Tuesday! I got to see 2 of my wonderful business babies today!🥰

Chloe and I walked in the new area by the road construction today! It was so great to get her around the new sights and sounds on our session together!🥰 I remember when we first started walking together she would run the opposite direction at any small unfamiliar sound or movement😉 Today we walked by large bulldozers and other operating equipment with only mild curiosity😍 It makes me so proud to see how far my business babies have come, especially when it comes to their confidence!☺️

Sully did absolutely fantastic today!😍 Especially for his very first session🥰
We really worked on the two base level cues today; “heel” and “sit, stay”!:) Heel is important for obvious reasons, we want him to be able to enjoy his sessions without pulling on the walker or himself!😉 And “sit, stay” is very important for his safety during our sessions! It’s always important to be able to put them in a calm, still position for when cars are passing by, other off leash dogs are close, or any other potentially stressful situation arises☺️
It took him about 10 minutes to catch on I’m the beginning but by the end he was doing so fantastic🖤 I’m so excited to keep working with him!:)

It was a slower week for me due to higher hours at the clinic, but I still got to see a few of my boys!

I’m so blessed to have worked with Bingo and Phil this week!

We had a great time together this week!🥰 With my foot feeling a bit better lately, I went on traditional sessions with each of them!:) They seemed grateful for the extra walking time😉 We were able to refresh on their “leave it”, as we saw LOTS of squirrels, and their “sit, stay” when cars passed us or we came to crossings🙂 I always feel so accomplished when my business babies seem both mentally and physically tired by the end of our sessions together!:)
I so appreciate the opportunity to work with them!🖤

Also, Everyone meet Sully!💙
I was so blessed to spend some time with him this morning and SO look forward to working with him🥰 Isn’t he a ham?!😍 He even showed me his “shake” for the picture.😉🖤

I got to experience new environments with my business babies this week! I’ve had to adjust my typical walking sessions to include a little more training and a little less walking as I am still recovering from a foot injury. Watching all of them conquer new (sometimes intimidating!😉) challenges had been so rewarding for both of them and me!😍
Here are some pictures from our adventures this week!☺️

P.S. With some of my clients taking time off for summer vacations I have more availability on my schedule! Feel free to shoot me a message so we can set up a time to meet and discuss my options to find what works best for you!🙂

This has kind of been an off week for me as I somehow injured my foot😓
However, I did still see some of my work-babies early this week and I just wanted to share their happy smiles with you!🥰

Also- a HUGE thank you to my wonderful clients for being so understanding while I sort out my inconvenient injury; I truly appreciate each of them.♥️

Happy Thursday! This week has been a bit slower for me (at least with sessions😉) due to the holiday. I was glad to be back with some of my business babies yesterday and today!
Everyone started off “heeling” well, so we quickly moved onto their transitions from "heel" to "free" walking and back again!☺️ It's always so satisfying for me to see them leave the luxury of the full length of their leash to come back to me!😍
They truly did such a great job today, I'm so fortunate to be back walking with them!♥️

My babies all did great today! We specifically worked on everyone’s “sit, lay down, stay“!☺️ I used this with my three boys on a walk this morning when they couldn’t seem to utilize “leave it“ effectively while walking past a barking dog. That’s not to say that they won’t ever be able to effectively use “leave it“, but I think it’s important to be able to adapt to the situation and utilize different training tools when needed!🥰
Each of the. did wonderful as always, and even though we didn’t see very many high stress distractions, I’m hopeful that our consistent practice with this training tool will increase its effectiveness when it’s most needed!☺️

P.S. This was my last walk with Harper for awhile so I got a photo with her this morning! I’ll miss seeing her smiling face so often, but I consider myself very lucky to have gotten as much time with her as I did!♥️

I got to see 3 of my joyful work babies today🥰

It always surprises me how they all seem to be on the same brainwave!😉 Or maybe it’s my energy, and they just adapt each day to that which is why they seem so similar!☺️
Either way, they all started out by listening to their verbal “heel“, “leave it“, and “sit, stay“ cues very well straight from the beginning of our sessions!😍 So we quickly transitioned into practicing their unstructured “free” walking🥰 We also worked on their transitions from “free” walking into a “sit, stay” and then back to a “heel” as well!:) They did fantastic with their cues today and enjoyed a little extra sniff time in the sunshine this morning!♥️

I got to work with SIX of my perfect fur-babies this morning🥰

We all had such great sessions together today! We continued to work on distraction management, but we broadened the spectrum to working on it in their "free", unstructured walking!🙂
Often Times it's easier for them to listen to cues when they are already in a "heel" both because they are closer to you so it's easier for them to focus and because usually that means they don't have to compromise the luxury of their whole leash to listen😉
With some consistency and some treats along the way, they were all able to hone in their focus back towards me even when they were at the full extent of the leash!😍
Even when a skill seems to be nearly perfected, there's always room to expand and elaborate on it!☺️
I'm so glad I got the chance to work with all of them today♥️

P.S. It was my last session with Bella today, so I got a picture of us together!😉

It’s was already HOT this morning, and my body was not ready to work in it😫
I was feeling a bit under the weather, so I didn’t visit some of the fur-babies I usually do but I still got to see a few😄
They were all very gracious with the slower pace I set (both for myself this AM and for their sake in the warmer weather!😉
We were able to continue working on distraction management today:) We specifically worked on paying attention to verbal cues even when they found something exciting to investigate☺️ With The help of some treats, we were managing distractions almost flawlessly by the end of each of my sessions today!😍🥰

I am so fortunate to have spent the morning in the sunshine working with my business-babies!😍 We continued to work on their "sit, lay down, stay" as well as refreshed on their "leave it" cues!☺️ In The warmer months I really try to put emphasis on their distraction management cues!:) As The town gets busier it is more and more important for them to be able to listen to a verbal cue even when there is something much more interesting they'd rather investigate😉 With The help of some treats they were all able to really nail down both of these training tools by the end of our sessions today!😍 I'm so glad I have the chance to work with these cuties!♥️

Happy Hump-Day!
Wednesdays I get out early at the clinic, so it’s usually my “catch up” day (for errands, appointments, etc) which means I usually don’t have quite as many walks as some of my other days😉
However, I still got to see two of my happy boys today!
Phil and Bingo were excited to be walking, but not so excited about the heat🥵
I am always VERY attentive to how each of my business babies is handling the heat to avoid them becoming overheated or overly-exhausted. Another thing to watch out for is the temperature of the pavement as that can be potentially harmful to them as well. Whenever I’m unclear of how hot the pavement may be, I go barefoot right alongside my fur-babies! I walk barefooted regularly in the summer so it’s not painful nor does in inhibit our session at all; it simply provides another safety measure to be sure we are walking on a cool enough surface to avoid burns/any pain or irritation to their paws!♥️

Both of these cuties did a wonderful job practicing some training tools and getting their wiggles out today despite the heat!🥰

Tuesdays are one of my big walk days!😍 I got to work with LOTS of my fur-babies today🥰
I am always brainstorming and researching new training techniques that would be beneficial for each of them! Often times I am in similar training stages with my longtime clients so I’m able to start practicing new techniques at the same time with each of them!🙂
Today I started working on “sit, lay down, stay“ with each of them!:)
I’m hopeful that practicing this with each of them in low-stress situations will make it easier for their owners or me to effectively use this training tool in high-volume situations as well🥰 It can be very useful in situations where it would be better for the fur-baby or the owners (or both!🙂) to have them in a calm, “down” state both mentally and physically.☺️
They all did wonderful today and I’m so grateful I got to see each of them!♥️

Unfortunately I had to take a few weeks off due to some personal transportation problems, but I’m so glad to be back walking with all my business babies this week!♥️ And to be back to consistently sharing their progress again!🥰
I got to see Miss Bella on my lunch break today!😍
We had a wonderful session together!🙂
I was pleasantly surprised with how well she did today after we had a week and a half without seeing each other😉 We walked past barking dogs, other walkers, and some people working outside in their yards with no incidents!🥰 She has come such a long way in her distraction management, I’m so proud of all the progress we have made together! As this is my last month working with Bella, I really tried to give her an overall refresher on everything we have accomplished together! We worked on her “heel“, her “leave it“, her “sit, stay”, her transitions from unstructured to structured walking, her leash awareness, and her overall verbal awareness; she did A fantastic job with everything!🥰 I’m glad I still have a few weeks worth of walks with her, we always have such a great time together!:)

Here are the cuties i’ve been working with over the past week!! With all of them, I’ve been working on leash awareness and their “Leave it“ cues!
Leash awareness can be extremely helpful in high volume, potentially stressful situations!:) The goal is essentially to have them come to you or check in with you every time there is any tension or adjustment on their leash🙂 Once they are in the habit of doing this in one on one sessions, it becomes much easier to gain their attention when something exciting or distracting is nearby!🥰
“Leave it” it’s a bit more self-explanatory, but equally important! As the weather gets warmer and more critters, people, and other dogs are out and about it definitely becomes more difficult to gain our fur-babies’ attention!😉 Working on “leave it” consistently can help combat their excitement/anxiety. I’m finding it so rewarding to practice these training tools with each of them, and am so excited for my continued progress from one session to the next.♥️

Harper and I have been working on her leash awareness during our sessions!☺️ Basically this means that any tension or change on her leash, she should be attentive to that and what it means! This can be very helpful in high volume/stressful situations when you need to get her attention!😍 To do this, I gave her a treat every time she looked at me when there was any tension on the leash (from either her or me)😉 She is catching on very quickly!:) She is doing so well♥️

Bingo and I have been working on some recall and also on “leave it” together. Hes doing a really great job of listening to his verbal cues even in exciting situations!🥰

Bella and I have had some amazing session together lately! She’s starting out straight from the beginning listening wonderfully to her “heel“ cues, so we’ve started working on her “free“ walking!🥰 There are many barking, excited dogs out in the sunshine and she did very well ignoring all of them!!☺️ Even when she had the extent of her leash, she does a great job listening to both verbal cues and any tension on her training collar!😍

Chloe and I have been walking in a completely different area than we have ever before which provides a A lot of new sights, smells, and sounds!😉 We are able to work on managing these both in her "heel" and "free" walking!:) When she’s in "heel" we are able to work on her "leave it" to maintain her "heel" which shes been improving on!😍 In her "free" walking, we have worked on her not getting too worked up or excited about things while still having the full length of her leash☺️ She has come so far in listening to her verbal cues that we‘ve been able to quickly conquer this together!😉

Ollie and I have been able to successfully practice so many cues in our sessions lately!😍 As The weather gets warmer I’ve been trying to consistently work on his “sit, stay“ at random times throughout our sessions so hopefully he’ll remember that in future situations where it’s most needed🥰 I’ve also had him “sit, stay” for slightly longer periods of time as I walked away from him and around him.🙂 Its taken a couple of tries for him to realize that as soon as I moved that didn’t necessarily mean we were starting to walk again😉 But after a few tries, he waited patiently for me to give him his “heel” cue to release him from his “sit, stay“:) We also continue to practice his transitions from “free” to “heel” walking☺️ He’s doing fantastic!♥️

This week has been particularly hectic for me! As much as I would LOVE to brag on each of my business-babies, I’m afraid it would be too long-winded to try to talk about them all!😉
So enjoy these pictures, and know that they are ALL doing FANTASTIC in my sessions with them.♥️

Happy Thursday!

Chloe and I had a great walk together this morning! Lately we've really been working on her "free" walking!☺️ This gives her a great opportunity to sniff around in her environment and become accustomed to different distractions that she's allowed to inspect.😉 It also provides a great opportunity for us to work on her transitions back into a "sit, stay" and then "heel" from there!:) She's been doing very well and simultaneously getting a few extra steps in as she has the length of her leash for the majority of our session together!😍 I always be sure to end our walk in a "heel" to keep that fresh in her memory.🥰

Ollie and I had a great walk together this morning☺️ He seemed VERY Full of energy as he nearly pulled me down the hill outside the gate😅💙 So we took a few moments before we started our session to practice his “sit, stay“ and “wait“🙂 After The first few tries he regained his composure and we were able to start our session together😍 He did very well throughout the rest of our session and listened nearly flawlessly to his verbal cues!!:) Sometimes Taking a few moments to regain his focus is all he needs!😉 We walked up to Diggins Hill on sidewalks and then down it through the woods this morning. This provided a great opportunity for new smells and got him in a new environment🥰 He did a great job listening with all the “first times” today♥️

Bella and I had a wonderful time today!☺️ We worked specifically on her loose-leash walking and her “leave it“ cues🥰 She did an absolutely amazing job of listening to my verbal cues even while she was at the full extent of her retractable leash!:) When a distraction would arise that would start making her anxious, she would stop on her own and wait for me to catch up to her to give direction!☺️ This it’s both a sign of her progress in managing distractions on her own as well as a sign of her trust in me to give direction where needed♥️ We both enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine!:)

Well yesterday was full of big, wet, yucky snowflakes🤮 But! We made the best of our time together anyways😉☺️ We Took some time to get her wiggles out in the yard and then worked on some verbal cues as well to help mentally stimulate her!🥰 We worked on “sit, stay “and “Harper, come! “, she did very well with them both!! I’m glad I got to see her on my lunch break yesterday!♥️

Phil and I both enjoyed the sunshine today! Even though the temperature was still a bit chilly, we kept warm with our steady pace together!🥰
There were lots of critters out so we were able to work on “leave it“ today as well as him continuing to practice being attentive to corrections on his gentle leader☺️ The squirrels in particular were definitely very exciting, but he did a good job of listening to his cues despite his excitement😉 I’ll see him next week!🙂

I took Bingo downtown so we could walk around new distractions today!☺️ He did a great job of focusing on our pace together and ignoring the distractions as best he could!😉 He would definitely head for the people walking by or pull towards the copious new smells on the sidewalks, BUT he listened well to his verbal corrections without needing many physical corrections on his training collar!🥰

I was very careful with Zuko today since he didn’t seem to be feeling himself. I mainly focused on his command training!☺️ In the field by his house we were able to work on “sit, stay“ (which was very hard the first few times😉) and “leave it“ with some squirrels and birds we saw!🙂 He did very well today and I think we got some energy out for the evening!😉🖤 I got a pretty cute picture of him posing for his treat today!:)

It was so great to walk with Sadie today!☺️ I am sad this will be my last walk with her for the majority of the summer, but I’m excited for possibility of seeing her in the fall! I am truly so proud of how far we’ve come together!🥰 I remember in our first session how nervous she was around both me and the noises in her environment; now she is always so confident and calm!♥️ It’s been such a pleasure to help her get where she is today, and I know her progress will continue as she grows!:) She listened near perfectly to her cues throughout our session together today😉🥰 I gave her a whole beef stick to herself as a reward for a wonderful last session and progress we’ve made together (which she is waiting patiently for in her pic)!😍🥰♥️

Now to catch up on the rest from today!😉

Phil and I had another great session together! We were able to work a lot on “leave it“ with squirrels and birds again—which he did super well with!😍🥰 For The rest of our time together we really worked on his transitions from “free“ walking back into “heel“!☺️ I have found with my own babies that practicing their transitions between those two can be very helpful when then working on off leash recall since they already have the base work for that down pat!😉

As much as Sadie might have liked the snow, I think she really loves all the spring smells that are beginning to surface!😉 We used her interest in the new smells to work on her recall from her loose-leash walking back into a “heel”🙂 Because she was so focused on the smells it occasionally took a few verbal cues before she would respond to “Sadie, come!“ By The end of our session, though, she was back to listening flawlessly on the first try!!🥰 I hope these lessons remain fresh in her mind for summertime walks with her mom!♥️

Zuko and I had a great session! As the first time we’ve been able to really do a true session together in a while, there was lots to refresh on!😉 We started by working on simply refreshing on “heel“ for the first several minutes. He definitely rebelled against his training collar some but after a few minutes we got into a good rhythm together!☺️ Then I let him have some sniff time in a loose leash walk and used that as an opportunity to practice transitioning back into “heel“ when needed!🥰 By The end of our session he was listening very well to his verbal cues again and seemed tuckered out when I brought him back inside😉🖤

It was so good to have Bingo for an hour this time!☺️ I used the first half an hour with just Bingo to get the majority of his energy out and let him have some good unstructured sniff time😉 We definitely still worked on his transition back into “heel“ when needed by using “Bingo, come!“ I hope that our practice on his recall is still helping him at home as well!🥰 Then for the last 30 minutes I got my boys leashed up and brought everybody out together!! Bingo seemed very excited to see everybody but was content to walk in a structured “heel” since he previously had lots of sniff time😉 He was panting up a storm on the car ride back to your house😍♥️

Last week I was out of commission for the most part, but I’ve been glad to see my business babies again this week!🥰

Phil and I had a great sessions this week! He’s really enjoying all the spring smells and critters running around😉 But he still did a fantastic job of listening both to his verbal cues and any physical corrections needed on his gentle leader!🥰 We continued to work on “leave it“ together particularly with squirrels and were able to work a bit more on his “sit, stay” at random times throughout the session since it was a little drier this week!😍

Chloe and I had a very solid session!:)
We worked specifically on "leave it" with some birds and squirrels and also her transitions from "heel" into "free" walking!🥰 She is getting increasingly better at listening to her verbal cues without needing any physical reminders on her training collar!☺️ I hope we were able to get most of her energy out, she was a bundle of wiggles at the beginning!😉 She still did a great job of listening to her cues even when she was wound up. She started calming down around the middle of our session which continued into the end:)

Ollie ran straight out into the yard (the door didn’t latch all the way) and wouldn’t sit still long enough for me to put his training collar on him😆
He had some CRAZY zoomies and I figured after we got that energy out we could work on some training with treats in the yard since I didn’t want to put his training collar on if he didn’t want🥰 I let him sprint until he was halfway pooped out, then I played fetch with him for a few more minutes and then I did lots of training with him after that!☺️ (his outdoor picture was from one of his perfect “sit, stay“ moments!🥰)

It was definitely a chilly walk full of snow flurries, but Harper‘s pace kept us both warm!😉
We refreshed on “heel“ as well as her transitions between structured walking into loose-leash “free“ walking!☺️ We saw a fair amount of squirrels and birds (Poor little critters were excited for spring and now are getting this weather again!😫) which really helped us work on “leave it“ as well!:) She did very well listening to her verbal cues, and I’m hopeful it will help get her ready for all of the summer distractions that I’m sure she will be around😉🥰
