Today is National Rescue Dog Day, and I wanted to take a momentābetween tail wags and belly rubsāto bark out a little gratitude.
See, I didnāt have a home as a little pup. Neither did my best bud, Ru. We both came from different paths, a little lost, a little rough around the edges. But then love found us. And it gave us a jobāto help hearts heal, paws-itively and patiently.
My job as a therapy dog is to help anyone in need, and it makes my tail wag to do it! But our Ru keeps her circle a lot smallerā she helped my mom and I heal after we lost our sidekick, Nala, helping us to continue living our purpose.
We may be rescue dogs, but the truth is⦠we do our fair share of rescuing too. One smile, one cuddle, one visit at a time.
āRescue dogs arenāt broken. Theyāve simply experienced more life than other dogs. Theyāve made it through the storms and still have love to give.ā ā Unknown
So see, we arenāt broken. Weāre seasoned. Brave. Full of stories. Full of love.
So today, weāre not just wagging for us. Weāre wagging for all the dogs who are still waiting to be someoneās second chance. Keep your heart open. You never know who youāll rescue next.
With love and licks,
Koda (and Ru too)šš¾
