I know that I've been quiet, but I've been very busy with the yard, competing, teach etc. So, a round up of my year so far!! Trail hunting finished mid March, so that eased the work load, Jessica Bateman who had been with me for years, went off to pastures new mid April. We had the winter sj champs for the riding club at the beginning of April, the whole team, riders and horses came from my yard!! We travelled up the day before and were very lucky to stay with Bill and Libby Turcan,( Sarah Jane Turcan parents) who were so welcoming and friendly, the main horse that I've been competing belongs to them! We didn't get placed but very good experience for all of us.
Rebel and I went to Hazelton for our 1st event of the season doing the 90, we came 10th, with just a couple of poles in the sj. Then to Crown Farm, Ascott under Wychwood, where we came 8th, then barbury at the end of May to finish 6th with a good dressage and double clear! Then rebel had a much deserved break. While doing all this I started Calett Mad's showing career after finishing racing, the Wiltshire show at West Wilts was his 1st outing, he behaved very well, then onto North Somerset show, they were running late and Calett was a bit overwhelmed by it all, but it's always a learning experience!! In between he's been going out to do some dressage and doing well, we then went to the Bath and West, early start and Calett was very good, we came 7th, which I was very happy with, as he was ridden by the judge for the 1st time and behaved! I've actually been on holiday!! But since I've been back, Rebel has been very busy, Howick on 29th June for the riding club qualifier where we came 2nd! So we're off to the champs! 5th July riding club sj qualifier at rectory, team 2nd, so off to the Hartpury champs as well! Then we were at Cirencester Park on Sunday, luckily early times, so we beat the heat! 32 double clear to finish 3rd! All the horses are doing so well and coping with the heat! I'm very proud of my small yard and all the horses here. Thats the summary of my year so far!! Xx
