Humane Veterinary Hospitals Humane Veterinary Hospitals located in Berks and Lancaster Counties. For Animals, Not for Profit. VETERINARY CARE FOR PETS, NOT FOR PROFIT.
(9)

Humane Veterinary Hospitals believes that the best way to keep pets happy and healthy at home is to make sure they have access to high quality and affordable veterinary care. Access to veterinary care is shown to be one of the most important factors in keeping animals out of shelters, and HVH veterinarians help us to provide that care to animals in our shelters, animals after they’ve been adopted,

and to your pet, too. That’s why we are proud to be one of the nation’s only networks of non-profit veterinary animal hospitals. Humane Veterinary Hospitals of America (HVH) provides veterinary services directly to the public with state of the art, nationally accredited animal hospitals. When you choose to bring your pet to one of the local Humane Veterinary Hospitals locations (Lancaster and Reading), you are choosing not only to obtain the highest possible level of care for your pet, you help to support the charitable work of HVH. The profits earned don’t go to shareholders of some national corporation, they go right back to helping animals in need in your neighborhood and across Pennsylvania.

The Fourth of July is right around the corner and can be a scary time for pets, especially with the loud booms and crackles of fireworks. Here are just a few ways you can keep your pets safe and healthy during the holiday:
🔴 For your pet's safety, keep them at home and away from direct, loud noises.
🔵 Make sure your pet's Microchip ID is current and up to date in case the fireworks scare them off!
⚪️ Safely store matches, lighter fluid, and other hazards that could harm your pet.

April is ! ❤️‍🩹

To make sure all dogs are protected from this serious disease, Dr. Simoneau, Humane Pennsylvania Chief Veterinary Officer, has provided some valuable information for you and your pets! 🐾

"A pervasive, serious medical condition, heartworm disease affects more than 1 million dogs in the U.S. every year. The disease can cause irreparable organ damage, but it can be both treated and prevented. Cats and ferrets may also be affected by heartworms, but usually not to the same extent as dogs..."

Everyone loves to give their pet a taste of their Thanksgiving feast, but we also have to ensure that we keep our furry companions safe this holiday season! While we love to slip our pets a tasty treat, below is a list of what your furry friend can and cannot have from your Thanksgiving dinner!🦃

❌Your pet cannot have turkey skin, turkey bones, stuffing, gravy, candy or gum, chocolate, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with added ingredients, pumpkin pie, alcohol, grapes or raisins, onions, or scallions.

From all of us at Humane Veterinary Hospitals, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!

Happy ! Should you have your pet microchipped? Absolutely yes, no bones about it. 🦴🐾

Microchips save lives! The majority of reunions that animal shelters facilitate between pets and their owners happen because the pets are microchipped and registered with up-to-date contact information.

At Humane Veterinary Hospitals, we can scan and implant a microchip at any regular appointment. Call us today at 610-921-8387 and make an appointment to get your pet microchipped!🩺❤️‍🩹
