My name is Maddie and I am a 5 year old female doberman, my life as I knew it, changed Jan. 13, 2016 after receiving my rabies vaccine...I have always been a happy, healthy high energy girl who LOVES to play fetch (I could play ALL DAY), chase squirrels in my yard (still haven't caught one yet), tug of war (I let my pet parent win sometimes so he doesn't feel bad), take nice walks, lay in the sun
while my pet parents work in the yard (I've never understood why they are allowed to dig holes in the yard but not me) and most importantly just being with my family! Two days after receiving my vaccine my pet parent came home from work and he started to throw the ball BUT I just sat there and let it go by, he thought I just didn't want to play because it was getting dark and cold (I have never been a fan of the cold), so inside we went. I started whining to my pet mom so she asked him if he played ball with me and he said "I threw the ball to her, she didn't want to play". The next couple of days were REAL COLD so we stayed indoors mostly. My pet dad stayed home from work on Monday & Tuesday so we played some fetch and it was then that he noticed I wasn't "tracking" the ball so he told my pet mom he thought something was going on with my vision to which she replied "there is nothing wrong with her vision, she just doesn't want to play". She then came over and threw the ball to me BUT I didn't even turn my head to track the ball, to which she replied "that is strange", even if I don't want to play, I ALWAYS follow the ball with my eyes, ALWAYS!!! We started to walk up the steps to go in the house and that was when they knew 100% something was wrong, very wrong! I started bumping into everything, we immediately left for the vet..........That was Jan.19, 2016
