There have been so many tragedies this year and we are only starting week two. 😢 We send our aloha to the fallen firefighter and his ohana, the families and pets impacted by the tragic events on New Years, and to all the people and animals impacted by the LA fires. We take this time to reflect on how precious life is, and how we can help to make our communities stronger and more safe for all. We are filled with so much sadness for these losses, and also with much gratitude to u for being part of the FAF ohana. Please stay safe, keep each other safe, be kind, and love one another 💜🐾

It’s been a busy first week of the year. We already have taken on a couple of sick babies. This little cutie was brought into after a suspected hit and run. She’s only about 6 months old and was on the way to being euthanized due to the severity of her injuries. Thankfully the wonderful vet staff at the VCA reached out to see if we would be willing to take her in. She has two broken legs and will need orthopedic surgery. She has a long way to go, but is such a sweet girl and deserves a second chance. Huge mahalo to for reaching out and to our amazing foster .love.808 for taking in this special girl. She will have multiple bandage changes, surgery, amongst the normal wellness care she needs.

We hope you’re all soaking in the Sunday vibes and fresh air — just like our sweet boy Maka! 💛

After everything he’s been through, Maka is living proof of resilience and joy. He’s a cancer survivor, a cuddle enthusiast, and still looking for that perfect forever home. 🏡 Until then, he’s enjoying every moment — whether it’s sunbathing, playing, or simply breathing in the Sunday air.

Take a page out of Maka’s book today: slow down, breathe deeply, and savor the little things. You deserve it! 🐾

As we close out 2024, we want to thank our incredible donors, dedicated volunteers, loving fosters, and everyone who supported us this year. Your kindness and commitment have made a world of difference for countless pups. 🐶🐱💕
