We only had 1 day to really explore PEI, and we made the best of it. We went to two beaches, walked around town, visited this cute little lighthouse and ate a s**t ton of food 🦞

Our heart aches for the town of Jasper. ❤️

Their community is strong. Hopefully Jasper will bounce rback and we can go explore that beautiful place again 🏔️ In the meanwhile, stay safe everyone out in that area!!

We have our appointment booked for this Thursday for an assessment exam with a canine rehabilitation vet ❤️

Thursday can’t come soon enough.

I know lots of you are wondering Miso’s CDDY status as IVDD can be a possibility. Yes, Miso carries CDDY and that’s why I’ve been super proactive in her care and she regularly see’s her healthcare team for maintenance. I will be trying to push to see neuro and scan her head to toe to make sure nothing is out of the sort and that way I’ll also have a baseline of her ❤️ The waiting is the hardest part.

Something off with Miso and we’re going to get to the bottom of it 💜

Back in May, I had to pull her from the UKI classic because she was behaving funny in her runs. Wide turns, disengagment, knocked bars etc….

Checked by chiro and massage day of and poor girl was really really sore and tense in her mid/lower back 😞

She was rested for 4/5 weeks and gotten the all clear from massage before I put her back into agility. Then couple weeks after that, got the all clear from chiro/physio.

Afterwards we went to a trial and the same signs were showing , disengagement, not wanting to turn and it looks like she’s chucking herself over the jump. I had chiro check her that day and her back was sore again.

I’ve been checked by our regular vet and have gotten a referral into a rehab vet to get to the bottom of this reoccuring sore back. Miso will be off for the time being and I’ve pulled her from everything 🥺

And to top it all off, she has this inflamed gum on her front tooth that may have to be extracted if the antiobiotics don’t work within the week 🫠

Coming in hot 🔥💜

After 4 weeks of rest, many visits with chiro, physio and massage, Miso is back in action!! We still are unsure what she did to injure herself (we suspect dock) but she definitely did a number on her mid-lower back. We’ve gotten the all clear just in time for all our summer plans! 🏃🏻‍♀️

Having agility withdrawal 🥴 Miso’s is on the mend and should be back at it soon! We have class Thursday and a trial next weekend so hopefully she’s back to 100% by then! If not, well we’ll still have fun chilling with our friends ❤️

I just know these two are up there together splashing in the water and having the most fun. They were both lost way too soon (4yo and 11yo). Give extra hugs to your pets tonight on behalf of Laurence and I ❤️ They are only here for so long and you never know what’s going to happen the next day.

It’s an agility weekend!! Time for fun and lots of running 🏃🏻‍♀️

We had day 1 of 3 today and it was okay. We weren’t really connected as a team and we are showing signs of weaving stress again. I have a few ideas up my belt to see how I can combat this for tomorrow 🤞🏻 In the meanwhile, time for some 💤

Very grateful and blessed with Miso ❤️ She is my ‘go everywhere’ dog and she handles different environments like a champ. We were out for about 6 hours today at a touristy town / trail and she was SUCH a good bean, we got so many compliments from people!

Tip: early start times = no crowds 🙌🏻

I lucked out and found an Airbnb right in Peggys Cove so we were up and about exploring at 7am with no people around! The downside was there were a lot of mosquitos and because it was rainy, it was foggy and you couldn’t really see out to the ocean. However , no crowds is always SO nice and an excellent trade off. By the time we left back to our Airbnb at 9am, we saw 4 double decker tourist buses pulling in 😅

I miss this duo 💔

Miso is still in an adjustment stage. When we lost Mocha, she would be physically looking around the house for her, going to every nook and cranny of the house Mocha use to hang around in and it broke me. She definitely is more ‘gloomy’ and sad in my opinion, she was always in a two dog household so the transition to a single dog household has been a huge adjustment period for her. She wasn’t necessarily super bonded to Mocha but she definitely enjoyed the company, the wrestling and joint adventures we shared for the 3.5 years they were together ❤️

We’ve got camping plans in the fall 🏕️ ❤️

I’m so glad Mocha and I got to have a camping trip last year. So many memories were made and I’ll always cherish those memories. We had a beautiful waterfront site which she absolutely went bonkers over for and it was hard keeping her out!!

I haven’t talked much about my grief process. I miss her everyday and wish she was still with me. Everybody tells me it takes time to heal and its true. Lately i find instead of wallowing myself in grief and regret, that I’m thinking about all the happy times and memories we had, what she taught me and how she’s changed my life ❤️ I love you Mocha and I miss you 🌈

I’ve been asked if she’s a purebred corgi too 🧐

Thought it would be neat to document our agility trial runs here! AAC September 10, 2022 at @k9central. We did ST1, ST2, SC and SG! Hot and humid day, I’m surprised Miso even worked with me!! She definitely wanted nothing to do with weaves so I tried to keep it positive and have fun with her 🥰 Obviously no Q’s but we had a blast! She did so well for her first time running at this facility!
