*We need advice*

We are throwing around the idea of getting a couple barn cats

I want them friendly because of course my kids will want to hold and play with them but I also want them to do their job.

Tell me what I need to do/know!

I've heard give them just a little food so they hunt more.
If we handle them too much will that ruin them?

We have free range birds, how do I keep them from killing them?

We have 4 guardians dogs/pups. Hoping to get young kittens so they just all grow up together

Will they kill snakes? Or just eat the mice that will attract the snakes?

And of course if we decide to....who has some (ideally free young kittens) ready to go:)

Pros and cons:)were not cat people so this is new to us

Finally got the mailbox up! It's not exactly turned directly north towards our driveway but it's straight and I did it 100% myself, including the concreting, digging the hole, leveling ECT 😀
Makes me feel good when I accomplish something

If you have been trying to reach me I'm sorry I have been slow at replying...i will get back to you this week!

A completely draining and exhausting weekend (including a solid 15hr Saturday)for us but we are officially living at the new farm!

We still have a few of the animals, 1 more big trailer load to unload and several small things left at the old place but hopefully put the house on the market come Friday, Lord willing 🙏

So excited to be over here and getting things settled
We appreciate all the help we have gotten over the past few months. We could not have done it without you!!

And did I mention we had the biggest blessing by way of weather. Record breaking cold front in August. It couldn't have come at a more ideal time. Absolutely gorgeous 😍 Thank you Jesus!

Our animals seem so happy at their new place and have been exploring, rolling in the grass and bouncing around...makes me heart so happy!

Our kiddos love not going back and forth each day to work too 🥰

Toby got a much needed bath for tomorrow's events...he thinks the muddy spot next to his trough is the prime place to sleep. I don't agree but to each their own 🤣 the mudd and matts we're awful but he's worth every hr of work 😉

So apparently my goats can grow a better garden than I can 😂 this is all from the seeds of gourds and pumpkins that they ate last fall 🤯

Pre-fertilized....I never watered or did anything to them, completely hands off. That's the key to a garden for me😂

Somedays we have to split up the work...busy times trying to prep the new farm and still handle all our events but we make a pretty good team 😉🥰
Thankful for a predictive week! Ready for electric to get hooked up, plumbing is done, new ac and duct work and about 1000ft of trenching 🥵

Had the wonderful opportunity to be at the Bethany Children's Hospital groundbreaking ceremony!
Such a wonderful event for lots of wonderful people and kiddos. Their staff was so friendly and absolutely amazing 🤩 So thankful to have been a part of this and excited for all the kids they'll be able to help!
