Yesterday we said goodbye to our quirky and adorable old man Oakley. 💔
When I first adopted him from TBBR in 2012, he was super shy and nervous, and he didn't leave the couch for weeks. Throughout his 17+ years he continued to rule the couch, but eventually he came out of his shell, getting adventurous, inquisitive and mischievous. We called him Benjamin Button because he got younger as he grew older, and the last few years of his life were his happiest. 🥰
Rest easy little buddy - we're going to miss you like crazy and the house already feels empty without you. Thank you TBBR for bringing him into our lives. ❤

My husband and I adopted our furbaby Winston through TBBR in March 2022. He was one of Daffy's pups formerly known as Lester. A family member recently gifted us a DNA test for him and we wanted to share the results with you all so that the families who adopted Daffy and her pups could have them as well.

According to the results, “supermutt” means that he descends from several generations of mixed breed dogs, but they believe the 3 breeds that make up his unique supermutt heritage are Russell-type terrier, chihuahua, and American English coonhound.

I’ve also attached a few professional photos that were taken of Winston at an event a few months ago for a good laugh.

Friends!! Have you met Darla, our 2.5 year old hound/beagle mix yet? She’s a doll! Here is what her foster shared:

While she may be shy initially, Darla is learning to trust people and when she does , she loves to show affection. This adventurous pup loves exploring the great outdoors, whether it's a leisurely stroll or a full-blown run. She's also a social butterfly at the dog park, happily playing with her canine pals. Darla's gentle nature makes her a wonderful companion for families with children, and her playful spirit will bring joy to any home. Darla would do great in a home with another dog to keep her active since she loves to play with other dogs. Darla understands some basic commands.

It was so fun to watch Darla at the dog park play with the big dogs but also the little boy from her foster home seems to be her best buddy! Think you may be interested in Darla? See her page here and apply today:

Learning to behave as other dogs walk by. This is Wilson, and he’s about 9 years old and under 30 pounds. Wilson isn’t a fan of other dogs so is learning to watch Nora and get a treat for behaving while the other dogs go by! Rhonda! She’s still, for some reason, available to adopt! One of our volunteers took some cute pics of her today. She a beautiful 7 year old, 27 pound beagle/hound looking to find a forever home. Rhonda has a unique problem for most hounds. She needs to be fattened up! They are being moved from their current foster through no fault of their own but must stay together and currently do not want to be with other pets. Jasmine and Odis are a dynamic duo of 2 year old beagles who are looking for a home together. They are brother and sister who love each other and LOVE people. They are each about 29 lbs. They are friendly and outgoing and very silly. They love to look out the window and hang out on the couch. They can be trusted to be left alone without being grated. Jasmine and Odis love to be around people.
