This empty spot was a huge pile of wood, debris, and literal garbage from before our time. This weekend it was all hauled away, and will hopefully be a future spot for a round pen! There was another small area with some old posts and beams with concrete that was also cleaned up today, but this spot is such a stark difference!

What a beautiful weekend it has been! We’ve been busy, busy, busy here this weekend! Hauling off junk, grooming and treating arenas, continued matting work, phew!

The sunrise was a nice reward for busting our butts yesterday and for the rest of it we have on our list today!

Hopefully only a few more cold days to deal with!

Also this was way overdue as we had our electrical work done on the stalls forever ago (one of our first projects!). I took down all the old extension cords that were strung along the rafters. These don’t belong in barns as a permanent fixture! They weren’t actually in use but it looked j***y hanging around and now it’s much tidier!

We started a pretty big project today! Leveling stall floors and re-laying mats! Our stalls were getting to be in rougher shape than I’d like. Some had bowling, some had large mat gaps, and some had mats sticking up every which way. It made cleaning stalls a pain, and we are so excited to be doing this upgrade to start our new year off strong! Hoping to finish the big barn tomorrow, then moving onto our other row of stalls soon thereafter.

Here’s hoping 2025 brings us even more progress at the farm and continued happy and healthy horses! 🐴🥰🎉

Shout out to our local Meade Tractor in Cburg. Our tractor went in for annual servicing and they got it back to us super quick, gave her a bath, and comped me a new clip for my bucket since my old one broke. They’ve been nothing but wonderful to work with this past year with our new machine.

Our tack room was a crowded mess and multiple people had to store their trunks sideways to fit (see pic one). Our renovations were completed today and thanks to some help from some organizationally gifted boarders we now have the gorgeous room in pics 2&3! 😍
