Puppies!!!!

On July 15th I took M**fin in for an urgent care visit prior to her due date. She hadn’t been feeling very well and I knew we’d need to cut her pregnancy short by just a bit. Today I named all 12 puppies and started adding their details to my website, blog, birth announcement email, and post adoption follow up. Much of that won't be visible until photos are added as well. That is tomorrow's project! And a hefty task for sure.

I expect to have everything publicly posted by Wednesday so folks can prepare for their release to the waiting list on Friday. The waiting list was closed today, and I've responded to every recent application.

Our 12 puppies (two litters) are not yet available.

M**fin recovered from her csection very well and is caring for her 8 without any further assistance from me.

Sunshine's 4 pups are doing great. However, unfortunately, last night she had to be reopened and repaired due to an improper closure the first time around. So she is back to square one today. Her incision looks much much better this time though.

I have not provided any details on the pups and do not intend to until next week. It will all be on the website before it goes out to the waiting list. The email for the waiting list isn't likely to go out before Thursday next week. I'm not in a hurry. I have moms to care for. I have a million pictures to take, and I haven't named any of them yet 😅 Care has been my top priority!!

Sweet Sunshine went into labor naturally this morning. Unfortunately, puppy number one was crooked and got stuck with one rear leg in the exit, unable to turn in the right direction. So off to the vet for a csection. I wasn't sure the little road block would survive, but she did!!! 🎉

Mom and 4 pups are doing well, just very sleepy. Sunny should feel better by morning 🌞

M**fin and babies are doing great. It's been a week since her csection and she appears to be feeling back to normal. Pups are gaining weight with very minimal help from me. M**fin is a champ 🏆
Will be getting formal photos and all that good stuff this week. I am also preparing for the birth of Sunshine's litter due the 28th.

It was a loooong night incessantly checking on M**fin and her babies as she continued to come out of anesthesia and get her bearings back. That can be a dangerous time of confusion, especially for a first time mom that never experienced any labor. M**fin has done well though. I'm helping with baby rotations and latching, deciding who may need just a bit of help till everyone has the hang of nursing. M**fin's appetite is good and she seems to feel 99% better without 8 babies smashing her organs. These aren't 8 wee tiny pups, they're all between 5-7oz which is pretty much average 😳 She cooked those suckers good!

With M**fin being a first time mom of a large litter born via csection, these puppies will not become available to the waiting list until next month. I'm not currently answering emails or messages about them because tired and busy, nuff said 😅😴

We spent the day at the vet calling quits on this pregnancy a couple days early cause M**fin was no longer up to the task. It was the exact right call to make and we have EIGHT healthy babies to show for it. Mom is a bit anemic but should be okay with plenty of meds, assistance, love, and rest. No worries M**f, I got you 🫶
