Bolt Action Bullies Striving to produce quality, healthy, clean American Bullies that meet the breed standard. It all started with a rednosed ABPT named “Jake”.

In short:

Dave & Stacey Criswell have been breeding and showing dogs for 29+ years. Dave had Jake as a pet and hog dog when he met Stacey. After they were married, they purchased their first UKC registered APBT named “Brutus” in 1986. This puppy was only a pet, but was shown in UKC a couple times. From that point on for the next 18 years, they raised and showed ADBA APBTs. As years went by, they

had interests in Jack Russell Terriers, American Bulldogs, Catahoula Leopard Dogs, Coonhounds, and now American Bullies. They raced the JRTs in Go-To-Ground competitions, they took the Catahoulas to Hog Bay Trials, they competed with the ABs at Hog Catching & Conformation, then the Coonhounds (mostly Treeing Walkers) really grasped them. Which in turn, created the kennel name of Bolt Action. They then got out of APBTs. They started competing in UKC/AKC/PKC NIte Hunts and Bench Shows. They titled many hounds to GRCH, GRNITECH, NITECH, CH, NGRCH in all 3 registeries. Even won UKC National Grand Show Champion in 2005 with “NGRCH GRCH Bolt Action Mundar Rick”. Rick soon became their foundation sire for all of Bolt Action Kennels current Treeing Walker Coonhound stock. Currently Bolt Action Treeing Walkers are winning Nationwide, including winning Westminster TWC Breed wins. Bolt Action has 15+ years involved with the Treeing Walker breed. Now for how American Bullies fit in. As anyone that knows Dave, they know that he is an avid hunter. He loves to dog hunt, whether it be c**n hunting or hog hunting. He also hunts for deer. When he got back into Hog Hunting, he needed a catch dog. He came across a blue colored American Bully female named Sugar. Sugar was heavy bred Gotty bloodlines and turned out to make an awesome catch dog, but was so much more dog friendly than they were use to with the APBTs they had in the past. After researching into the breed more, they decided to visit an ABKC show to see more Bullies and meet others with the same interests. This is where they met Kyle Wilson of Critical Bullies and his awesome male CH Buck. Kyle had the kind of clean Bullies that they admired. Since then they’ve become close friends with the same goals. They soon decided that the American Bully breed brings them back to their roots of how they got started. With the addition of a dog friendly companion and family member that you can take anywhere. They’re very excited for what the future holds for this great breed at Bolt Action Kennels.
