Exercise and Conditioning
Exercising and conditioning are essential in any training program. It is critical for house dogs or working dogs. It’s crucial in our Stockdog program especially in the summers to build up heat tolerance as the temperatures increase.
We utilize our bike to build up our dogs tolerance in the heat in a controlled way as to not overheat them. We also use it in our obediance program to burn off pent up energy making the training process easier.
Here are Yeti and Boone with their first time on the bike.
How do you exercise or build up your dogs tolerance in the heat? Let us know in the comments below.

Hondo (Katy x Hangin Tree Chili)
Hondo’s festive shenanigans as he enjoys his retirement. On the weekends we move our sheep into our sheep wagon to save on feed. It’s an awesome way to utilize high intensive grazing and rotational grazing on small acreage. It also helps reduce parasitic infections and prevents overgrazing.
We retired Hondo two years ago but still utilize him as a stud dog and still use him on sheep to keep up with his conditioning.
