Happy Father's Day to all the pawsome cat dads out there! 😸🩷😽 This is my husband Dan with Pepper (left) and Benji (bottom right). Thank you for waking up to pick up those 2am hair balls and for always giving the kitties extra snacks when they start meowing! 🤭 As an extra fun fact, Dan is actually the reason we brought Benji in from the streets years ago! I had noticed that Benji was a friendly stray (abandoned by a neighbor) and I was feeding him in our yard. It was Dan who suggested we bring him into the family! 🏡💞 Sending love to you and your families!

The love I've gotten from all of you since Niko's loss has meant so much. The cat community is so special and I am so eternally grateful! 😭💝

When I realized that 38 people donated towards sending me gifts in Niko's honor, I just crumbled! 😭😭😭 It is a very powerful and overwhelming feeling to know that all of you cared enough to contribute! Please know that the gifts have been placed around my home and serve as beautiful reminders that Niko's spirit is always near. ✨️💖🌈 The gifts sent by this group included a custom picture box with a touching photo of my angel Niko beneath a rainbow by , a custom windchime engraved with Niko's name which reminds me of him evertime the wind blows on my porch, and an incredible oil painting by . Allan, you really captured Niko perfectly in this painting, thank you!!!

I have honored Niko in many ways since his passing and I feel like sharing will help me process his loss. I've been mentally stuck… Niko is on my mind a lot. I know the cat community understands how hard it is. Thank you so much, you have helped me through. 💝🥹

I knew that I wanted to do something special with a portion of Niko's ashes and the timing of the solar eclipse aligned. My husband and I decided to hike a mountain in the Adirondacks to view the eclipse and honor Niko from the summit. Niko always loved views from high places and I am certain that his little eyes would have been blown away by the breathtaking views at the peak of the mountain. The eclipse was such an intensely beautiful experience and I am grateful that I was able to bring Niko along in spirit. It really felt like he was with us, I will always remember the magic of that day. ✨🌚🌞💖

I am also reminded of Niko everyday as I prepare packages for all of your sweet felines. It means so much each time I see photos and videos of your cats enjoying their Space Kitty Express toys. Niko was my inspiration and seeing your cats happy is a reminder that Niko lives on through the joy of so many other cats now. 🥲

Niko's love also lives on in my efforts to help other cats in need. Niko was once sickly and discarded, seeing him blossom changed me. I know that every cat deserves that opportunity. Making donations, volunteering, and fostering are all things that make me feel like I'm making an impact for other kitties waiting for their chance at a happier life.

I have fostered around 15 cats over the years and now felt like the time to take in another foster. I have never seen a cat this sad, it breaks my heart just looking at him. He is gentle but scared and seems to be in pain. Please keep him in your thoughts, we have a vet appointment in the morning. 🙏🏼💖

I've been really struggling to find the words for this post.

Niko was and will always be such an incredibly important part of my life. It's no exaggeration to say that he changed who I am. He showed me what it means to really love a cat and to fully feel that love reciprocated. He was a very special little soul and we shared a deep bond.

When I brought him home in 2013, he was a scraggly, scared and malnourished young cat. He quickly became my little shadow and he just oozed gratitude. I think he felt safe for the first time and it was such a privilege to have his trust. Our connection was so singular…the way he gazed into my eyes… unforgettable. He taught me so much about patience and compassion. I am so eternally grateful that he came into my life.

There are so many moments in the day where I really feel his absence. I miss his little quirks and routines. Feeling him curled beside my head at night. His gentle paws on my face in the morning. The sound of his meows as he swirled around me. Perhaps most of all, I miss the feel of his fur, so plush and thick. My handsome boy.

Niko is also the kitty who inspired me to start Space Kitty Express. What began as a journey to make Niko happy grew into a mission of spreading joy to cats far and wide. Everytime I see a happy cat enjoying their toys and herbs, I'm reminded that Niko lives on through a legacy of joy. That really brings me some comfort. Continuing to spread happiness to other cats in his honor means so much to me.

I wish I could have had more years with him, unfortunately, he succumbed unexpectedly to metastatic cancer. He was asymptomatic until close to the end and his diagnosis came too late. It was a huge shock since he still seemed so happy and normal. On his final night, he had been weak. He woke us up with an unusual meow and I sensed it was his time. He was curled in bed with us and I was able to thank and comfort him for about an hour before he drifted off. He was surrounded by love as he took his last breaths. It was incredibly difficult but it was perhaps the gentlest goodbye I could have hoped for.

Santa's workshop is still in full swing over here! Santa Paws and the elves have been very busy, this month has zipped by! There will definitely be lots of happy kitties out there this Holiday season. 😸❤🎄✨️🕎 If you still have some kitties from the nice list to grab gifts for, check out my shop at www.spacekittyexpress.com ❤ I have a few recent additions including extra durable denim kicksticks, herbal puffs, and Holiday themed "Magic Triangle" sets.
