This is Louie, he lives near Buffalo Mo which is 45 miles North of Spfd. He had a great life with his human Mom & Dad and kids and dog sibling. Two years ago his Mom passed away in a car accident. His Dad tried hard to keep things going, but has to make some tough choices. He had to give up their home and move in with his Mom. Unfortunately, dogs aren’t permitted inside there. He knows the dogs don’t belong outside, but has no other choice.
The dog sibling found a spot in a rescue, but Louie hasn’t found one yet. MoKan Boxer Rescue has no foster homes available.
Some helpers have provided a dog house and things to keep Louie as warm as possible.
Louie is 4 yrs old, neutered and will be up to date on his vaccinations before being placed. He is used to being around kids and other dogs.
This information was provided by volunteers trying to help him out, details would need to be discussed with Louie’s Dad.
We are doing this courtesy posting to help Louie find that perfect home. He is not part of our rescue program.

if you are in/around Colorado.................... and need help or can offer help

If you're near the fires and haven't been evacuated yet, please be on high alert and prepared to evacuate you and your pets at a moments notice.

We have Ho-Bos stuck in their homes and their families unable to reach them due to the evacuation orders and fire danger. This is a scary situation, folks. We're sending out good thoughts and prayers to all affected by the fires. Please pray for our Ho-Bo's that are stuck at home alone and in danger.

*If you are evacuated and need a safe space for your pets, please let us know. We do not know exactly how to help, but we're prepared to help in any way we can.

* If you have space to house a dog during the fires, please let us know.

Sweet Prospector just arrived at The Ranch this morning! He is a neutered male, 10 years old, boxer. Such a sweet old boy! He is pretty skinny right now, so we are going to fatten him up for the winter.

These two lovelies are still waiting on their forever home. They have been at LAPP for over a year. Luna, 8, is the female and Cosmo, 4, is the male. Luna is a Boxer, and Cosmo is a Boxer mix. They are both extremely well-behaved. Cosmo loves toys and fetching them, and Luna loves chasing Cosmo as he chases the toys. They both do well on the leash and love walks. They were surrendered from the same home and it would be ideal for them to be adopted together. So, a sponsor has graciously offered to pay half the adoption fee ($150 total) for the person or family who adopts them together. It’s a BOGO people! Tell everyone you know, especially any Boxer lovers!

this pair of boxers is still setting in the Republic MO animal control. 8yrs old, fixed, current on shots and the AC describes them as great dogs that are happy. they really need out as they have been there a month this round. they have made a few appearances there before until the owner stopped picking them up.

Meet Bubbs!

This handsome boxer man is 8 years old and 88 beefy pounds of love (as all Boxers are). He was found as a stray in rural Missouri and has been sitting at the small town pound with zero interest, this pound which has no AC and only outdoor kennels. Not only has he been dealing with this awfully humid weather, but he was also found with a skin condition from fleas and double ear infection. Bubbs has been getting the care he needs but is so ready to escape the heat and snuggle onto a plush couch under the AC! He is a very sweet boy who ignores other dogs and just wants someone to love him.

Meet Bunker
Bunker is a 7 year old boxer baby. He was returned to a local shelter after being in his home for 4 years, because his owner is moving out of state and can't bring him with. Well, 4 years ago this boy made it onto the adoption floor and was able to find a family that was supposed to love him forever. But this time around? This time around Bunker is now considered a senior, and he has a bump on his tail. Those two things disqualified him from making it out onto the adoption floor this time. And, at this point, I think we all know what that means.

Bunker is still a bright happy soul, he has so much life left to live and needs to finally find himself a committed family, who won't waste his time for another few years then dump him again when situations change or things become inconvenient. One who will value his companionship up until the very end. Bunker deserves this.

We named him Bunker as a tribute to our upcoming Tee Up For Tails golf tournament fundraiser on June 11th. For those unfamiliar with golf terms, a "bunker" is the dip in the green that is usually filled with sand, which is hard to get out of and is determined to be fateful for golfers who miss their target and wind up in there. Bunker, you may have missed the target with your previous owners, owners who placed you in that fateful situation, but all that changes today. You will be at the little red barn soon and your life will be nothing but love from here on out. You DID make it out of that hard place!!
