A CAUTIONARY STATEMENT (CODE YELLOW) FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IS IN EFFECT FOR
ALL

******FORECAST ANALYSIS INDICATES THE POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS IN SECTIONS OF THE ISLAND******

CONDITIONS EXPECTED TO LAST FROM SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2024, 07:30 L.T. TILL
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2024, 13:30 L.T.

EXPECTED IMPACT:
Heavy rainfall can lead to local flooding in some sections of the island;
• Strong wind gusts may cause significant damage along their path;
Large waves on our southern and western shores may damage small craft close
to the water line and beach facilities as well.
Cloud to ground lightning can cause damage to electronic equipment and other
items.

PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:
During thunderstorms avoid using electrical appliances and unplug those not
in use.
Use fixed telephones only in an emergency.
Secure loose outside objects and move pets and yourself indoors
While taking shelter, please avoid isolated trees;
Avoid driving over flooded roads and water courses;
Get out of boats and away from water, if possible;

DEFINITIONS:

A Special Bulletin is issued for weather events that are unusual, cause general
inconvenience or public concern (requiring the attention and action of fire
department and police authorities) and cannot adequately be described in a
regular weather forecast.

A Cautionary Statement for Severe Thunderstorms is an announcement when severe
thunderstorms are possible (probability of 10 to 30%).

The line starting with CONDITIONS EXPECTED TO LAST FROM gives an approximation
of the period of the hazardous condition.
