We love our dogs and pups and want the best possible lives for them and I absolutely love working with our families to have a positive experience. Please plan ahead with us or refer families that are looking for a dog. I will post any pups that become available due to good size litters being born. We usually fill 5 spots depending on genetically how many the mamas can have.

Looking forward to working with you and adding to your family a wonderful, smart snuggly buddy.

We accept puppy applications for our upcoming litters. Take a look at the planned litters we have and fill out an application with the desired size and adoption timing that would work best for your family!

Love it when our babies find comfort in their crate!
4 weeks old and starting them of food.
We get our mamas who all love their crate to nurse their pups in there as well as free choice the first several weeks to go in there. Creating this environment helps our pups love their crate. At 6-7 weeks of age we start separating them into small groups for crate sessions and than between 7-8 weeks they are all by them self and we are working towards no accidents so our pups and families have the best head start.

February 11 to go home. Please contact me for more details.

Hello families
Just wanted to do my yearly check in with all about routines, eating practices and socialization. Please take a minute to read as I want the best for everyone schedule and health wise.

Please please please make sure with your puppy or adult dog that you are crating them for a 1 hour morning nap DOOR CLOSED and 1 hour afternoon nap. This should happen irregardless of the age of your dog to ensure they are getting proper rest and practice in their crate. If they don’t practice these skills daily they can become less comfortable with it and lead to separation anxiety or other behaviour issues. If they ever become sick or injured the vet will use a crate for treatment and that can be even more stressful for them so please set the boundaries up so your dog has safety and security in their little den.

For eating routine DO NOT graze feed! This means food down all day. This is a big no no as it messes with their metabolism, causes picky eaters and can lead to weight issues. Your puppy/dog is a furry 2 year old toddler that will get distracted so they should be fed in their crate with the door closed with a time limit up to 20 minutes in the morning and dinner. If you are giving them more time and just allowing them to come and go you potentially can have issues and than will be contacting me or your vet with concerns as they’re not eating or spending money trial and erroring food as they become picky. DO NOT cook their food. This changes the balance of the food and can cause itchiness and health problems. Buy only AAFCO approved foods or foods that follow this nutritional composition. Any other foods are not balanced and can result in health issues. If you find your puppy or dog is itchy a RAW egg 3 x a week is a great treat and lots of healthy nutrition to balance their skin. Coconut oils or fish oil on their food (a sq**rt or tsp) is also fantastic for their skin.

Rotational feeding proteins is key to a well balanced diet. This means changing their proteins every 2-3 months when feeding kibble and with raw every 3-4 days.

Socialization goals are taking them to stores or car rides a couple time a week. Phone local stores around you not just pet stores and see if they allow dogs in. This gives your puppy great exposure to people not just animals. Home depo, Michaels, winners, etc are just a few that usually do!

Enroll in agility classes or a level 2 to continue that wonderful bond and training to keep not only your dogs skills crisp but yours as well. Most of the time I find it’s the non furry family member that needs the reminder 😉❤️ to keep their skills going as life can become busy so it’s easier to schedule time out of your day to just be with them and focus so that good manners and habits are part of your family.

Find a facility around you that does socials that you can go to so you can see and learn what is good socialization for your furry toddler. Day cares or other boot camps MUST have a crate rest period during their day if you are using that. If they don’t you will have an overstimulated dog that struggles to settle and your dog NEEDS to learn the art of being still and calm.

Yearly health checks are a must! Please use only Revolution during the warmer months of the year ONLY as the other topical tick and flea can and will cause seizures or other toxic neurological issues. There are natural sprays you can get online from Curated Canines that are safer. Internal dewormers monthly is interceptor plus. I wouldn’t bother with anything else as they don’t need it.

As always please contact me with questions or concerns or just to say hi. Thank you all for being part of the Bow Valley Family

Happy fall and love from our family to yours 🐾❤️🥰🐾

Had a couple families ask about positive socialization and doggy day cares. Here are my thoughts.
This breed is a sensitive one which is a great gift to their families. When introducing new people or surroundings start at a distance. So what that means for meeting new people is to give the puppy space. DO NOT pat on the top of their head but rather have your palm up and allow the puppy to come to you to sniff and check things out. I always tell people to just ignore the pup for a minute and than once they are wagging their tail and comfortable than a nice ear rub or toy play can occur. This sets your puppy up for success. Positive introductions that respect your pups space goes a long way. They do not need to meet 100 people contrary to what socialization says. It is all about quality and consistency. Start slow. Take them with you through drive throughs. Carry them for walks until they are fully vaccinated. Have play dates with pups/dogs that are well trained and not hyper. A highly energized dog will not help socialize your puppy but rather over stimulate and scare them. Have a leash on the older dogs when playing and one on your pup. They can just be attached and do not have to be held in your hand as this is easier to redirect unwanted behaviour vs chasing them.
Doggy day cares need to be used with caution as well as off leash dog parks. We don’t like dog parks for the simple reason not every dog has good manners or will get along with other dogs and this can lead to a hurt puppy or scary experience. Controlled settings like puppy classes or socials at a training facility set you and your pup up for success. Doggy day cares can be used once in a while but insure they have scheduled naps times in the am and pm and small group plays with more than 1 supervisor present. If they play all day and are an exhausted dog that is over stimulated this is not necessarily a win and can result in a hyper dog latter that has a hard time settling or over excitement with other dogs so please ask questions about routine.
Sending love to all the families and their pups:)

Good read 😊

Good read 😊

When I was seeking my first dog I spent a lot of time researching.
If I wanted a dog that wasn’t a yappy breed and 100 articles said the breed were yappy and 1 article said they don’t bark a lot. Then it’s easy to want to believe that one article because you’ve fallen for a possibly unsuitable breed.

The same with Facebook groups and questions.

Sometimes I’ll see a question asking if a dog is ok to be left alone all day. There maybe 50 experienced people saying no absolutely not. But 2 people say they leave their dog and so the original poster feels validated to leave a dog all day.

This isn’t right.
Common sense (proving a rare trait nowadays) has to prevail.

Breeders know their dogs inside out. They are our specialist Mastermind subject.

So when a breeder of Australian Labradoodles tells you that this breed;
Love water, roll in fox poo, have sharp teeth and mouth in puppy development, jump up, need commitment to training, need socialisation, extensive grooming and exercise.

Guess what..... it’s not a lie.
It’s not every dog except yours.

This is the breed and this will apply to all dogs of that breed. Don’t look for that one post or article that tells you otherwise.
