Certified through Animal Behavior College, CPDT-KA and attend several conferences/workshops a year, I use positive reinforcement training techniques to help you and your dog come to an understanding on how to behave and coexist within your household. I encourage all family members to be present during training sessions so that everyone understands what we are working on, why, and how to communicat

e with your canine companions. I offer all levels of training from basic commands and potty training through advanced commands. Private lessons will be taught in your home, keep an eye on my Facebook event page for group lessons. It's my belief that aggression/severe anxiety is best addressed by a qualified animal behavior professional due to the potentially dangerous nature of these issues. A service animal is any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. Service Dogs: **If you have a disability that a service dog can assist with, I am more than happy to help you. If you are looking to get out of a pet deposit/pet restriction, travel on the airplane, etc. I will NOT train a fake service dog for you.**
Please call me today to talk about my service dog training package. Not all dogs have what it takes to be a service dog! Please do not just go out and get a dog, I will test every dog and if they do not pass, we will not train it. I am here to put out successful teams, if we are not 100% we do not move forward. Please see the Services section for a pricing breakdown. I have tried to make training as affordable as possible and have broken down the cost of training. Service Dog training is split into 3 sections that last 12 weeks each.
1. Basic/Foundation Skills
2. Public Access
3. Task Skills
Payment is due upfront for each section. Helpful Links:

Training two gators to station, meaning I asked them to stay in position until cued to do otherwise.

I stood in front of them and called them to this log. I moved several steps to the side. Took this photo and then moved back in front of them to deliver the reinforcer for the awesome work they did.

Knowing and doing better through training and earning trust and respect with crocodilians.

I say this all the time in class.

We’re not saying you CAN’T cuddle your dog!! But have you ever thought that your dogs need and your needs might be a bit different?

We know how awesome it is cuddling with dogs. We love them so much and we want them with us all the time. However, let’s not forget our dogs are predators. We’ve domesticated them, but they still have natural instincts.

Dogs still have needs that need to be met like proper exercise, an outlet for their individual drive, and also training that allows them to learn AND have a larger life with you.

Training helps your dog understand the expectations that we place on them in our human world. Training gives dogs a way to stimulate their brains. Training is a great way to form a bond and a relationship with your dog.

You can do both. You can give your dog structure, rules, boundaries and lots of training, and still enjoy cuddling them.

But it’s easy to forget that our human emotional needs are vastly different than our dogs’. Some dogs actually don’t enjoy affection that much and would rather be doing things with you like swimming, hiking, running etc. we work with these dogs often, actually, and once their owners have that magic “aha” moment. Everything, and we mean everything, gets better.

The humans are often just putting unrealistic expectations on their dog, but through training they realize how much better things can actually be. Even with LESS affection than before. Some dogs truly just love doing things with their owners, and couldn’t care less about the cuddles.

Just remember at the end of the day, training is ALWAYS a wonderful way to create a healthy relationship with your dog & it’s up to us to respect their individual needs in order to give them the best quality of life.

& if you’re wondering HOW to even get started training your dog, we have so many online resources for you! Our Green to Graduate Series is a step by step virtual course that will show you how to take an untrained dog to fully off leash reliable. Owners all over the world are having massive success with this program, all while building better relationships with their dogs! You can find it at the link below:

All dogs are different. All families are different.
Not all dogs alert the same. Since we want them to LOVE their job each dog gets taught an alert that works for them.
Some alerts don’t work for some families. If you have a toddler with T1d you do not want the dog pawing the child by accident so maybe a nose bump or bringsel is better. Bark alerts for every high and low are just disruptive and not something we need to hear 10-15 times a day it just adds stress, which no one needs more of. (Barking for emergencies is different.) The list goes on and on. There is no one size fits all perfect alert for all dogs and their people. It’s best when each team works with trainers to tailor something that works for each team. Becuase training is forever!

Hank alerts with a touch of his nose to the thigh.
Parker alerts with a bringsel pull. (The tube he carries in his mouth)
Jedi doesn’t love the bringsel anymore and just paws for highs and bows for lows.
. and welcome to my life! Dogs bowing, pawing, nudging and running around with bringsels.

Here is Hank about to bump me with his nose to tell me Luke is low.

The holidays are here and it's important to make sure you and your reactive or fearful dog are able to have a safe holiday season.

If you plan on having people over for holiday festivities there are certain steps you should take to help everyone stay happy and safe.

How do you fill your dog's cup? Lots of behavior problems occur due to your dog being frustrated. Helping to meet their emotional needs is one way to help them cope with everyday stressors. Our dog are essentially captive animals who don't get much control over their own lives, so helping meet their needs in ways that appeases their genetic predisposition is a great start to behavior problem solving. Got a terrier - can you give them a dig spot? Got a hound - can you find a vast field to sniff in? Got a herding breed - can you play games that appeal to their follow and gather mentality? And we know that ALL DOGS benefit from a good sniffwalk as often as possible to meander around a natural space to use that amazingly developed nose of theirs.
