Dear Community,
Lately, we've been seeing more animals than ever at the Whitman County Humane Society. At times, our kennels are completely full. While every animal here is safe and cared for, we find ourselves needing some extra help.
Shelters nationwide are facing challenges not seen in over a decade, and we're no exception. It’s comforting to know we’re not alone, but the truth is, we need your support to continue helping as many animals and families as possible.
Our community has always stepped up when needed, and we’re so grateful for that! If you’re looking for ways to make a difference, here’s how you can help:
Adopt a pet: Whether it’s a kitten, a large dog, or another animal in our care, adopting not only gives them a home but also opens up space for another animal in need.
Foster temporarily: If you have a little extra room, consider fostering an animal. It’s a short-term commitment, and we provide all the supplies. It’s a great way to help if you’re thinking about adopting but aren’t quite ready.
Donate: Our animals receive the best care, which requires a lot of resources. Monetary donations or supplies are always welcome and greatly appreciated.
We want to assure you that we’ll continue to help stray animals within our area. If you find a stray, bring them to us so we can check for a microchip and work to reunite them with their owner.
Our dedicated team is working hard every day to support the animals and people in our community. Your support—whether through adopting, fostering, or donating—makes all the difference.
Thank you for helping make Whitman County a fantastic place for pets!
Warm regards,
The Whitman County Humane Society
