I was an orphaned senior citizen with a shady past. My foster mom thinks I'm a direct descendent of the Grinch's dog, Max. She says I have obvious Suessian qualities and is currently looking for DNA tests to prove my paternal lineage. Through no fault of my own, I ended up in the Pen down in the SD. While there, the Warden and I came to an understanding and she took a chance on my old soul by cont
acting a group that might be able to help me. She knew I was bound to be a lifer and end up on The Row if she didn't reach out for help. Lionel's Legacy Rescue (www.lionelslegacy.org) worked with the Warden to get me out and finally have a doc take a look at me to see what they could do to make me comfy. Turns out all those years of pixie sticks and pop rocks did my teeth a disservice (well, that and the whole not brushing thing). My teeth were a mess and more than likely that infection caused my problems with my ticker. See, my heart is huge. And I mean HUGE! Like the Grinch's was after Christmas. And my beats are not mad fresh. I have a Stage 5 heart murmur, so it sounds like some wonky emo band. But, here's the thing. None of that matters in the end. Because some folks with big hearts saw my frosted face and my propellor tail and said I should have a home and some love, for however long I have. And because of that, I am THE most grateful senior citizen. Every day for me now is a blessing. I have yummy food, a warm, safe home, medicine to help unbreak my heart. And I have people who love me and are excited to make the life I have left the bestest ever.
