Calling all Pony Jumpers! We’re thrilled to announce the new Children’s Pony Jumpers, which will run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of each week of the 2024 National Sunshine Series.

The two divisions (small/medium and large) will run over the following schedule in Jumper 4:
☀️Friday will be Table II Optimum Time
☀️Saturday will be Table II 2D
☀️Sunday will be Table II 2B

Small/medium ponies will jump .80-.85m and large ponies will jump .90-.95m. Smalls are limited to riders aged 13 and under, mediums 15 and under, and larges 17 and under.

I’m glad Desert International Horse Park is presenting a more tailored pony jumper division at up coming shows . Whether these additions are in response to the uneven results of the pony jumpers at the Pony Finals 2024 or just general observation of what to make their horseshow an even better experience is immaterial. The fact is the reasonable people known for a long time that the pony jumper division is the starting ground in a discipline of our sport, which is only becomes increasingly sophisticated overtime.
I shared my thoughts on the value of the pony dumper experience in the recent article I recently wrote for California riding magazine.

The use of cavalettis date back as far as Caprilli and were introduced to most army cavalry schools in Europe in the early 1900s. Bert de Némethy found that by using cavalettis to control the take-off, he could enable riders to practice what they needed to work on without upsetting their horses temperaments. When Bert modernized his system of controlling the take-off with cavalettis by combining them with gymnastic lines, he really found the formula for success. Eight year year-old Zamgersheid mare by Calletto 1. Super reliable, very uncomplicated and competitive. If you know this bloodline, you know that these horses are as trustworthy and amateur friendly as they come. Classes recently two weeks ago. She has good experience up to .30.m available now located i 5 minutes from Dublin airport. If this video doesn’t speak to you enough by itself, you can hop on and be there in eight hours from California . This is a wonderful horse.
