Hi everyone, Today, we went to visit mom’s cousin in Miami. She’s a very busy lady who is the caregiver for her mom and her husband who is disabled. Mom asked me to be on my best behavior and to try not to scratch her aunt’s arms. You see, julia is turning 101 this month. That’s 100 years older than I am! I hope I can live that long too! I bet she has so many stories to share about various journeys. Mom says that as humans age, their skin gets thinner and can easily tear. She trimmed my nails the day before our trip, in preparation for this visit. I sat next to Julia so she could pet me. She seemed to enjoy touching my soft fur as she spoke to me in a friendly way. I was happy to spend some time with her. Mom says it’s good for young pups to be around wheel chairs and walkers. She learned that early exposure to humans with disabilities, can help prevent unnecessary fears and anxiety for pups. It was a brief visit, but I learned a lot. I learned about the importance of family, good health, and to move out of the way if a wheelchair is headed your way!
Much Love,
Lyla🐾
