Sage Veterinary Imaging We are a full service outpatient veterinary diagnostic imaging center offering state-of-the-art human-quality 3T MRI and ultrasound for pets.

Same-day appointments are available, and no referral is necessary. We believe that advanced imaging is the foundation of advanced veterinary medicine, and the key to exceptional treatment outcomes. Therefore, our mission is to deliver world-class outpatient veterinary diagnostic imaging to pets, using cutting-edge MRI, CT, X-ray, Nuclear Scintigraphy, and Ultrasound technology, including echocardi

ography. Our research-grade Philips 3T MRI is as good as any machine found in clinical use for humans, and provides the answers you need to plan the best course of treatment for your patients. In addition to MRI, we provide high-resolution console ultrasound, fluoroscopy-guided biopsies, CSF taps, and 2-hour digital cytology results. Our TekScan Strideway system allows for visual pressure-mapping and quantitative analysis of animal gaits. In addition, we are committed to advancing the state of research in image-guided musculoskeletal treatments for companion animals and are actively leading clinical trials. One such promising trial, currently underway, brings a novel treatment for progressive lumbosacral disc degeneration to our veterinary patients that otherwise have limited treatment options and a guarded prognosis. Further, we have partnered with Exubrion to offer injections of Synovetin OA, a joint injection proven to decrease synovial joint inflammation. To our referring veterinarians:
When you refer a case to us, you can be confident that your patient will be carefully monitored and expertly imaged using state-of-the-art research-quality imaging equipment. Following the exam, your patient will be sent back to you with an immediate call to discuss our findings. You won’t just get images from us, but also a team approach that we refer to as our circle of care, as we work closely with recognized experts in internal medicine and neurology to help guide treatment options for general practitioners. Meet Houdini, a very special kitty who recently underwent I-131 radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism. His diagnosis began with a routine bloodwork panel conducted by his primary veterinarian, which showed elevated thyroid hormone levels—an indication of hyperthyroidism, a common endocrine disorder in cats. Houdini also experienced noticeable weight loss, another hallmark symptom of this condition.
After a thorough consultation with one of our radiologists, and in discussion with Houdini’s mom, Sarah, it was determined that I-131 treatment would be the best course of action to manage his condition. I-131 is a targeted therapy that uses radioactive iodine to destroy the overactive thyroid tissue responsible for the imbalance.
Now, two months post-treatment, Houdini is thriving! He has regained his pre-hyperthyroid weight and is calmer, more relaxed, and noticeably happier. Sarah has observed that his fur has returned to its luxurious pre-treatment state, and he seems more content overall. We are so grateful to have crossed paths with this amazing cat and his wonderful owners. Seeing Houdini’s transformation has been truly rewarding for our entire team.

January is Thyroid Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on an often-overlooked health issue in cats: Hyperthyroidism. This common condition in older felines occurs when the thyroid gland becomes overactive, leading to symptoms like weight loss, increased appetite, vomiting, and hyperactivity. Early detection and treatment are key to managing the disease and improving a cat’s quality of life. Regular veterinary check-ups and blood tests are crucial for diagnosing hyperthyroidism in its early stages, helping your feline companion stay healthy and happy. Stay informed and keep your cat’s thyroid in check this month and beyond!

At Sage we offer Radioactive Iodine treatment otherwise known as I-131 therapy; Radioactive iodine is a highly effective treatment for feline hyperthyroidism. It targets and destroys the overactive thyroid tissue while preserving healthy cells. Administered via injection, it restores normal thyroid function, offering a long-term solution with minimal side effects.

Meet Kilo, the adorable Cane Corso puppy who came in for an urgent ultrasound! Here’s what his paw-rents had to say about their experience: “They were able to get us in on short notice straight from the ER which was great! Everyone there was so professional and kind. We came in needing answers and feeling very anxious and worried about our puppy’s health. THe atmosphere of the office is very calm, and Dr Ellis was absolutely amazing and talked us through everything that she saw on the scans. She also had some really great insight that the ER doc had not mentioned, to help get out little guy feeling better more quickly.

For being the kind of place that you don’t want to have to take your pet, they really do strive for everyone, human or pet, to have a positive experience and you can absolutely tell that they love animals and treat them with care. I hope we won’t ever need to go back for illness or injury, but if we do I know my pups will be in great hands!”
