Josie and BB's Wood Wafers Thin, fun wafers cut from Eastern white pine, a pine that ranks softer than basswood on the Janka ha Very few stores sell wood any thinner.

We are a small-scale home-run shop in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, specializing in thin, grooved wafers made of Eastern White Pine. A bit of background on how this started: BB, my black-capped conure, has a slightly misaligned beak that prevents it from wearing down properly. It came to the point where I had to take him to the vet for monthly beak trims, which was very costly. The vet suggested I giv

e him more wood to chew to help his beak wear down, but BB turned his nose up at even very thin pine (1/4" thick). Enter Josie and BB's Wood Wafers! Thin pine 1/8" and up, in fun shapes enticing for even the most timid chewers! All slats are cut by hand and individually, painstakingly smoothed with a diamond file. As they are handmade, they may vary in appearance or have slight imperfections. Your birds will not mind! :)
