The American Street Cat, Inc. Having no paid officers or volunteers, TASC is a grass roots organization that believes in transparency about who we are and what we do.

Think of us as blue collar folks working for blue collar cats. The American Street Cat is NOT a shelter. We are a small group of volunteers focused on doing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and we foster in our own homes (with our own resident animals) only cats and kittens found during our TNR efforts. We saved these kittens from being orphaned by a business when they were 10 days old. The distraught mom was trapped and reunited with her babies, who are now 7 weeks old.

Friends of/adopters from TASC need to rehome a recent addition to their family after discovering that he truly is NOT okay sharing space with another cat.

Sammy’s original owners, who were hoarders, passed away, and the group that stepped in to help assumed that he’d be good with a feline companion. This has proven not to be the case. After several months of trying to keep the peace, the decision to rehome, though a tough one, is the right one.

If you need to relinquish your pet or are concerned about stray cats in your area, please contact your local veterinarian and animal rescue groups for advice and additional resources. We encourage everyone who reaches out for help with a colony to learn about TNR and become an active part of the solution to the problem at hand.
