We are an all volunteer group, and have limited time and resources but we do what we can. These birds often have a hard time, surviving in the city on inadequate nutrition amidst many dangers. New York City makes no

provision for their care if they are injured or ill or orphaned or are suffering and need help. As ferals they fall through the cracks, not being pets, or livestock or true wildlife. They are wonderful birds with great intelligence, strong individual personalities, strong attachements to each other and to those (relatively) few individuals who care enough to try to help them.
