I'm sorry I have not been around lately. BUT TODAY, I need to announce FOUR little boys that need their forever home. They are all a very light cream (almost white) color. One is a smooth coat, the others are luxury long coats. Honey Bear is their sire. Lola Rose is their mom. These boys are VERY SWEET and VERY SMALL. For details, please use MESSENGER. Thanks! I have medical appointments 3 or 4 days each week. I have a procedure tomorrow morning (additional spinal injections) and I will have my gall bladder removed on Wednesday next week. It seems my body is tired--but my mind is sharp and my spirit is strong. Please continue to keep me AND my partner Vicki, in your prayers (Vicki finally has a probable diagnosis that is discouraging).

TXLC Snewty Pants (Newt) has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Some of you are fortunate enough to have one of his children. Newt was the perfect pet, gentle, sweet, loving, quiet, and well-behaved. He was also a perfect Chihuahua stud, tiny, dense & long coated, always efficient producer. But words cannot express how great a companion he was. He was only 9 years old, an apparent casualty of a bad surgical procedure.

The world will scarcely realize and little note what a noble creature has passed. But those who knew him have suffered a grievous loss, the loss of a happy soul who lived to love and be loved, who never demanded or complained, and who left a permanent mark on our hearts. Memory of him may die with us, but if indeed, “all dogs go to heaven,” we may see him again.

Rest in Peace, little buddy.

After stringing me along with multiple assurances of commitment, the approved applicant has reneged on fulfilling the adoption agreement. Sweet Barney Rocket just wants to play, to cuddle, and to have a home of his own. He is current on his vaccinations and has nice household manners. He sleeps through the night by himself without crying. He entertains himself quietly (when he must). He will likely only reach 4 lbs as an adult. He is a Chihuahua, also known as a "forever puppy." WE ARE CALLING HIM "ROCKET." He was born at the end of February and we knew he was special the minute he was born. His Papa is our champion-producing, Prince Loki and Lola, the descendant of nearly 60 champions. At just over 4 months old, we are not certain he will ever reach 4 pounds. He is SO SMALL! And remember, our breeding priority is sweet disposition...and Rocket is THE SWEETEST little boy!

We had some thought we might keep him as a new stud dog. Well, we have now made the decision NOT to keep him and breed him. The problem is that he is too closely related to too many of our females and we are not big fans of "in-line" breeding. So. We need to find a permanent home for him and he needs to be "fixed" as soon as advised by your vet (so that he never develops the marking instinct).

THIS may be someone's opportunity to acquire an exceptional M-Class/Comfort Chihuahua, a very small and very sweet (and O! So cute!) Chihuahua. Finding great homes for my babies is my highest priority and I have been blessed to have found so many excellent homes, making great friends in the process. Norah, now Tutu, has found her perfect happy place, nestled up to Lynn’s neck. Once again, I have found, by the grace of God, a great home for a puppy and new friends, this time, just a 30 minute drive away. Once again, I am grateful and contented.

We got the babies out for an HOUR (actually more than an hour) of PLAYTIME (with each other AND us! I took between 200 and 300 pics--I had to--they won't sit still for more than a second so ya gotta catch them and then cull all the blurred shots. Here is Norah. Norah may be the smallest, softest, sweetest puppy I have ever produced. She wore herself out running and playing with her mom and aunt Julie and me. Then she curled up in my arms, sighed a big sigh, and drifted off to slumberland. I clipped her nails and took pictures. She just lay there, perfectly content on Papa's arm.

Twix & Snickers are reserved, no longer available. Lucky for me, it will be another month before they will go to their new home. These guys are such cuddle-bugs...I already miss them. I can barely stand the thought of losing them.

But they are going to an amazing home! Their new family are experienced Chihuahua people AND there are huge holes in the family's hearts where former companions lived. Of course, these siblings will always have each other, but they will never be left without human companionship either. They will never be alone. They are headed for their best life! My aim, my goal, for every puppy!

HEAD'S UP! Gracie was successfully bred by surgical AI on Thursday, Feb 1st. Honey Bear will be papa of his first litter soon. We expect delivery around April 4th at Comfort Chihuahuas. I will post updates. Stay tuned. These puppies will be an extraordinary blend of classic and contemporary types, smooth and super dense/super long coat types. One thing is absolute...these puppies will be drawn to your lap as if you were a magnet!

Gretel is reserved. So normally, I would not share this with everyone. But this is so adorable that it lifts my spirits--I hope it gives you a smile and brightens your day.

The warning label affixed to Chihuahuas is, "Don't get a Chihuahua if you have small children!" The fact is that small children, quite innocently, but without training or without supervision, have been known to hurt the small Chihuahua. A grasp or a strike or a kick or even a bite that wouldn't phase a Labrador or a Pyrenes, is a major pain to the 5 lb Chihuahua. The best case scenario would see the Chi fleeing for his life, forever fearful and mistrusting of small children. In the worst case, the Chi would bite back and maybe wind up in dog pound somewhere. It doesn't have to be like that! This video shows 11 month old Kaelee with her Best Buddy, 15 mo old, Pepe le Pew. Pepe and Kaelee have grown up together since the day Kaelee was born. Kaelee's mom, Char, has carefully monitored and supervised all their interactions and play. What you see in the video is trust, even love. These two are inseparable. They will not leave the other. Kaelee, you can see, knows how to "pat" Pepe gently. She grasps him without hurting him. She pushes him, only to have him immediately return (and try to climb into her lap). This is adorable! Now, you may wonder why Pepe is wearing a belly band and why he tries to hike his hind leg on her. Well, Pepe is a show dog. So he has not been neutered. When he tries to hike his hind leg he is doing what any intact male does...he "marks" his territory. He claims Kaelee as HIS OWN! Thank goodness for belly bands! Char tells me that Kaelee has accompanied Pepe to EVERY show! The new show season has just now cranked up and Pepe is only 5 points short of a championship title. I am so grateful to Char for sending this video to me. And for giving me permission to share it. It is important to see that show dogs don't have to be high-strung or hyper. It is important to see that small children and small Chihuahuas are NOT mutually exclusive. Of course I am proud to see one of MY puppies--soon to be an AKC champion. TODAY! Aspen and Dante are 4 weeks old. Aspen, white, is spoken for already. Dante is maybe, sorta, possibly--pending (I'll know more later in the week, hopefully. LOL! These two are just now "leaving the nest" and getting playful. Last night, Mimi decided she has had enough of their sharp little teeth. So, weaning begins today. It's always fun. Gonna try to get more pics today. In this vid, Aspen tries to push Dante around. Dante is just kind of bored by her efforts. Yay! Hoorah for the little guy! At this point, weight projections start getting clearer. It looks like Aspen will reach 5 1/2 lbs while Dante will not likely grow beyond 4 1/2 lbs. He is definitely on the smaller side!

No Cure for Chihuahua Love

I rescued an old, smooth-coat, black & tan Chihuahua in December, 2010. And, as the saying goes, he rescued me right back. And I fell in love with Chihuahuas. I always wondered why my dad always had a Chihuahua, his mother always had a Chihuahua, and his sister-in-law always had a Chihuahua. And I discovered cousins who love Chihuahuas. And once “Peanut” dug into my heart, I understood why so many people are positively addicted to Chihuahuas. There is no cure for the love a Chi gives you and no cure for your loving addiction to them.

Once I became disabled and retired, and depressed, I realized the cure for depression is a Chihuahua--or in my case, a few more of them. Thus, M-Class Chihuahua Ranch was born. And to be perfectly clear, I do not breed Chihuahuas to sell (although I do sell them). I breed Chihuahuas because I love the breed, I want to do my part to always improve the breed, and besides, Chihuahua puppies make me very, very happy. And when I must sell my puppies, it does not discourage me, for 3 reasons: 1) I have thoroughly vetted my pup’s new family and I know my pup will be loved and cherished and will love and cherish his/her new family. 2) I know that I will soon see a new litter of Chihuahua babies born here on my “ranch.”

And 3) My breeding dogs are all my babies, my pets. They mob me all day, they smother me with doggy kisses, they distract me from my constant aches and pain. I know of no other animal that loves so completely, without reservation, as do my Chi children. If there is an antidote to cure my addiction to these dogs--I don’t want it. If you have discovered Chihuahua love already, you understand. If you need this kind of love in your life-I recommend Chihuahuas. If you want to rescue one, as I did-I have resources and contacts to help. And if you are looking for a small, precious companion that ounce for ounce, will out-love any other dog on the planet-I can help you with one of my puppies or direct you to other Chihuahua breeders who I know, feel the same way I feel and offer premium puppies the way I do.
