**PLEASE NOTE** - Due to my workload of having hundreds of dogs to add, i am still posting the dogs needing homes although they probably won't be able to go 'home' now until after Christmas and possibly new year so please bear this in mind when applying for a dog. But hopefully they will be home with you as soon as possible and i'm sure they will be worth the wait :)

Are you right for Freddie?
Freddie is looking for a home where he will have access to a private and secure garden where he can zoom around with his favourite toys. This off lead time will be especially important for Freddie as he will need to be kept on lead when out and about. He will need to be the only dog in the home but would benefit from a family willing to work on his doggy social skills. As Freddie has lived with cats previously, he does have the potential to live with them again when introduced carefully. This is the same for small furries as long as they are kept separate. Freddie can live with children of the ages 12 and up who don’t mind sharing their home with a big bouncy dog, although he will need to be walked by adults only. Freddie has previously been left for around 3 hours without issue, so does have the potential to do so again as long as this is built up slowly as he settles in.

Meet Freddie, a boy who’s character is just as fabulous as his hair! He is a 2-year-old+ Rottweiler crossbreed who is ready to bring some fun and plenty of cuddles to his new family. Tilly is a sweet but anxious girl who would love to find a quiet, adult-only home, ideally in a rural area as she enjoys the peace and quiet of countryside life. For Tilly, meeting new people is as simple as enjoying some play together, and once she has a relationship with you, you’ll have a friend for life! She does have some worries over handling, and can struggle to share her sleeping spots so will need her own ‘safe space’ in her home. Tilly will walk with doggy friends but does need to meet them on lead first and she needs to be the only pet in the home. A secure garden is a must for Tilly, as she loves being outside and she loves to play, but some days even a walk will be too much for her.

Is Tilly right for you?
Tilly is an exceptionally sweet 4+ year old Collie and everyone that meets her falls in love! She has recently spent over a year in a home but struggled to cope after her owner’s circumstances changed, so is back looking for a new home. Fortunately this history means we know all of Tilly’s likes and dislikes and exactly what she needs to succeed. She is not the sort of dog who is going to want to go everywhere with you or who needs to be worked, but as long as you are able to understand her needs she is truly a fabulous dog. Tilly is fully housetrained and ok being left home alone for a couple of hours at a time. Traffic noise and main roads are Tilly’s main worries and she’ll need to be walked directly from the home as she is not too sure about getting into the car either. If you’re able to offer Tilly what she needs you will be well rewarded; she will greet you enthusiastically each morning and run off to grab a toy to play with you.

Are you right for Quaver?
Quaver is an independent chap who is searching for a quiet home. He is a friendly lad but can be quite conflicted, especially with regards to handling. For this reason he needs an adult-only home with his own secure garden. Quaver needs to be the only dog in the household but can have some calm walking friends. Quaver has some lameness in his back leg and is currently on medication to help manage this.

Is Quaver right for you?
Quaver is 4+ years old and came into our care after being found as a stray. We don't know anything about his life prior to this so he might need some introductions to home-life. This includes time left alone and car travel, though he's more than happy to jump into the passenger well! He is a clever boy and loves his food so this should make training easier. Quaver adores the company of people but isn't one for lots of fuss, so will need owners who are happy taking a hands-off approach.

Phoebe is a gentle, loving girl who finds the joy in everything. As an older girl she’s not wanting to live with very young children but those of secondary school age would be fine. Phoebe can potentially live with another quiet dog, and does particularly well with other sighthounds.

Is Phoebe right for you?
Phoebe is an 8-year-old+ Lurcher who just adores people. This does mean that she can struggle being left home alone so will want a family that are able to be with her all of the time to start, with a view to building this up gradually. Luckily she’s happy to jump into a car so could join her family on trips out and about. Phoebe loves her walks, enjoying sniffs and meeting her doggy friends. She can be reactive to dogs out and about but has mixed really well in-centre too. Phoebe will need a little help with her housetraining once she’s back in a home, but she loves her food so this will help with her training.

Are you right for Percy?
Percy is a treasure of a Collie who has been friendly with all the staff here at the centre. He can be a little conflicted and prefers a hands-off approach, so won’t be able to live with young children. However he can live with sensible teenagers. Percy doesn’t get much out of interacting with other dogs and needs to be the only pet in the home. He has been able to walk alongside other pooches in our care but can find interactions stressful, so he has learned to wear a muzzle for times when this might be a possibility. Percy can find the wider world a bit stressful and can get anxious. Therefore a secure garden for toileting and play is essential. Percy is currently on pain medication to help with mild hip dysplasia.

Is Percy right for you?
Percy is 2+ years old and was sadly found as a stray. He was unwell when he entered our care and needed multiple vet visits and medications to improve his health, so has already been waiting quite some time to start the search for his forever home. Since recovering he has really shown us what a brilliant boy he is, but due to the lack of home history things like time left alone will need building up from scratch, and while he’s getting much braver around cars he’s still not there yet. Percy loves spending time playing with people and having fuss from those he knows well. He’s not a dog that will be able to walk for hours (though he might try to convince you otherwise!), so a home where he can spend quality time with his humans indoors or in the garden would be great.

Nelly is a lively lady who wants a home where she can play lots! She’s very friendly but can be slightly anxious. Nelly can be a bit nippy when she gets over-excited. She is working on this but any children in the home need to be of around secondary school age and happy with these behaviours. Nelly needs to be the only pet in the home but could have some doggy walking friends. She is currently in one of our foster homes Monday - Friday but will be at the centre at weekends.

Nelly is a 1yr+ old Patterdale who was sadly found as a stray. We don’t know anything about her history so her time left alone should be built up gradually. However she does jump straight in the car, and has really tried to remain housetrained while in kennels. Nelly is a bit worried of busy roads, so would like her walks to be in quieter areas. If you’re looking for a clever pooch who just loves to play then Nelly might be the right match for you.

Meet Mr Pickles! He was found as a stray and this has understandably left him with a few worries in life. He will need a quiet, adult-only home to make sure that he’s not overwhelmed. Unknown people are a bit of a worry; he prefers a slow approach but after a brief intro and some tasty treats he’ll be asking for fuss and attention! Mr Pickles does bark when he sees other dogs out and about so will need to be the only pet in the home and would love to find somewhere for quiet walks away from other pooches. Fortunately he’s good in the car so could be taken to a peaceful spot.

Is Mr. Pickles right for you?
Mr Pickles is a young Frenchie who at 2+ years old hasn’t had the best start in life. He was found as a stray and sometimes thinks the world is a bit much. However once he knows you his fabulous personality will show itself, and he’ll do anything for a treat! A family that will go slowly with him, especially at first, will be just what he’s looking for. He spent a short time in a foster home and so we know he can be left for a couple of hours, travels well in the car and is very nearly housetrained. Access to his own secure garden and treats as a reward should see him master this very quickly!
