Lucky Mutts Rescue Lucky Mutts Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing, fostering and finding forever homes for dogs in need.

We are based in Milwaukee, WI. Lucky Mutts Rescue is an all volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing, fostering and finding forever homes for dogs in Wisconsin and surrounding areas. We also work with public shelters in portions of the Southern United States due to the high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation; dogs given up by their owners because of difficult times; and those in dang

er of abuse or neglect. We at Lucky Mutts Rescue adhere to a comprehensive adoption process that includes careful consideration and research to find the right matches and educate prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and families. All animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all necessary vaccinations and medical treatment, and are placed in loving foster homes until the right match is found and they are placed permanently in their forever homes.

Rosie is a sweet and spunky spayed lab/beagle mix weighing just over 50 pounds. This 3-4 year old adorable girl has the prettiest eye liner. She was taken to the shelter after she was found in a home with her deceased owner. It's believed that about a week and a half went by before they were found. She's good with dogs and does well in her crate, but needs a cat free home. She is a sweet girl who knows to use the bathroom outside and also knows basic commands. She has pretty good recall and knows her name. She does voice her displeasure when needed, so apartment living isn't best for this girl. She does like to bark and bay like the beagle mix she is. Dad put a barkbox in the window and all of her barking has stopped. She is a quick learner and very smart. She would do best in a home with a doggy sibling to play with and feel safe with. She does not like to be alone and will always look for dad or a doggy sibling to cuddle or play with. She is working on some manners like keeping all paws on the ground and meeting new dogs slowly and not going right into their personal bubble. She is just so excited and happy to meet any new human or potential doggy friend. Her favorite thing is to go for a walk and look for squirrels or bunnies to chase. She walks with her head down most of the time following scents of smaller animals and then when she looks up, she looks to the trees for animals to tell dad about that are hiding up in them, so there's no hiding from this girl!

Hello world! I’m Sausage aka Saucy Boy! I’m 5 months old and 40 pounds but have more growing to do. I’m your typical puppy and listed as a lab mix. I'm a very silly and explorative boy and I’m doing very well with potty and crate training. I love all dogs, cats, and humans - especially kids. I also LOVE water! My foster mom set up a kiddie pool in the backyard and it’s AWESOME. I would benefit from a daily schedule and continued work with leash walks. I love to play and cuddles with dogs and humans alike. I can’t wait to meet you! 💙

Hi, my name is Nellie, and I'm a 2 year old female Aussie mix weighing 53 pounds. My foster mom says that I have a very chill and gentle disposition. I do like to follow her wherever she goes, but if she leaves the house, I'm okay with it and greet her with joy when she returns. I pride mysef on my ability to be playful or peaceful depending on the vibe of my people. I love car rides and long walks. I can walk for miles without getting tired, but if you need me to just go out quickly to take care of business, I can do that too. I'm very quiet and since getting to my foster home I haven't ever barked! I do really well with other dogs --I'm happy to play if they want, but also content to continue on my way if they or my foster mom prefer. Similarly, I wouldn't mind chasing a rabbit or squirrel but am adjusting to the reality that this isn't allowed. I know to go potty outside with no accidents in the house! If you are seeking a great buddy who can go on long walks with you and relax quietly at home, and provde endless suggles and kisses, then let's make it happen!

❤️ ADOPTED ❤️

Hi, my name is Sally. There's so much to discover in Wisconsin! I'm adjusting well to my foster home, though I was super shy at first. As soon as I got to know my foster parents, I've become very affectionate, I think the term is "velcro dog." I'm about 2.5 years old and weighs 43 pounds, although I'm a bit chunky, and I'm listed as a Corgi mix. I like my foster sibling, and all the other dogs we've met on walks and visits. I know to do my business outside, and sleep through the night next to the bed. I don't need a crate - I can stay home alone with no problems. I'm very quiet - I've only barked once since arriving! I've been told I need to lose some weight: my foster family is watching my calories, and we are walking, walking, walking! I do pretty well on a leash, but sometimes get distracted. We are also working on some commands, like I said, there's so much to discover and learn! But I'm ready for it, I just need the right companion(s). Could it be you???

❤️ ADOPTED ❤️

Ruby heard that New Kids On The Block have a concert TONIGHT and got so excited! She said she just knows that some of their songs were written about her, and even though we told her she wasn't old enough for that to be true, she insisted!

She said she knows she's got the right stuff to be your favorite girl, the one you've always thought about. She's been hangin' tough waiting to find her perfect family, and has enjoyed photo shoots to be a cover girl in the meantime. If you meet Ruby she'll be lovin' you forever, and you can call it what you want, but she just calls it love!

Say Bonjour to Ms. Ruby! This lovely lady is an 8 year old possible heeler mix with a heart of gold. When she isn't outside adventuring on walks, hiking through the woods or frolicking at the beach, you can find Ruby relaxing in her foster home on her comfy bed chewing on a toy or bone (most likely quietly solving the worlds' problems) or napping next to her humans. She has been very calm, fun-loving and confident from the get-go, so it appears she'd do great in a furever home with or without a dog. She's also good with kids and cats as a bonus, and has wonderful manners (she can sit, shake and NO jumping, counter surfing or door dashing for this lady!!). Ruby has gotten along with every single dog and human she's met so far whether on a walk or at the dog park. Her gentle nature is remarkable, and everyone she meets falls in love instantly. Is it because of her big smile? Her wonderfully calm personality? Or maybe the way she innocently looks into your eyes like she's peering into your soul? It's all of that and much more; Ruby is the whole package. She's not quite as young and spry as she once was, so leisurely walks with a lot of sniffing opportunities seem to her liking. But don't let her age fool you- she has a LOT of life left to live and love to give! Weighing in at 70 pounds, Ruby could stand to lose a few (but shhh...don't tell her I said that). She would probably love to have a fenced in yard to roam around and relax in, in addition to routine walks. Ruby's eyes light up when she wades into Lake Michigan but hasn't adventured into full on swimming just yet. She also loves boat rides! Ruby loves a visit to the dog park but doesn't need a lot of energy to hang out quietly at home and is actually more interested in meeting all the people friends at the park! She has a relaxed yet curious nature, and likes to stick close to her humans and dog friend when they're around, but also seems to be A-OK when left alone. She's had no accidents in the house and does not need to be crated when left home. She would love to cuddle in bed or on the couch with you but is also happy to sleep quiety on her bed in your room. Ruby is a quick learner and a seasoned, loyal companion and would do well in any type of home/apartment or family!

Luca is between 3-4 years old, weighs 44 pounds, and is listed as male Bulldog house hippo mix. He is a sweet dog with a lot of love to give and is a number 1 snuggler. He is a champion napper and likes to be near wherever his humans are. Luca is working on having a loose leash when on walks - he gets so excited, it's hard to hold back! He's great with kids and loves the attention. He will vocalize if he sees or hears dogs or people nearby. He has had no accidents in the house and rests quietly in his crate when needed. He gets along well with other dogs but is better off with his own food bowl. He loves to play with soft squeaky toys and to play in the yard with his foster (dog) brother!

***NEW ARRIVAL***

Fettucini is a big puppy bundle of energy who loves to explore, play, and loves love! At 5 months old he's been soaking up the world around him and loving it. He's listed as a lab mix and weighs just over 30 pounds, and is your typical nosey pup, checking out what he can get into. Every where goes he loves everyone and will eagerly sit on their feet to be petted. He is highly intelligent and eager to learn, he wants to please his human and loves attention! He was never in a house before so he is still working on potty training, but seems to be getting the knack. He hurls himself sometimes at his human when they sit down because he wants love, it’s quite cute, but we are working on a more gentle approach. He is working leash walking and recall and is getting gold stars for both! Fettuccine kennels well but does alert you when he needs to go out or wants some love, so apartment living isn't best for him. He is a silly, highly intelligent pup and will make some special human their best friend! He gets along with other dogs well! As a curious and silly pup-pup he will keep you on your toes, but it will be worth it, he’s going to mature into a wonderful young man and best friend!
