Pheasant Ridge is a small horse farm in eastern Iowa, specializing in the breeding and development of modern American Shetland ponies.

In addition to the ponies, we have a few quarter horses and enjoy riding in whatever spare time that we have. We are a small horse farm in rural Iowa, near the town of Williamsburg. We focus on training and conditioning our small herd of Shetland ponies and quarter horses. We are looking forward to another great season! Visit us often to see new updates!

Spring is almost here! Today we are thinking back to April 2023 and the birth of Charlie’s first foal, VINDICATOR PRF. He is a lovely black c**t by Explosive Edition and we are so excited for his bright future!

While we don’t have any babies coming this year, we look forward to foals arriving in 2025!

The golden girl, Wilk. Fantabulas Aurea

Back in the fall of 2018, I decided I wanted to get more involved in the roadster ponies. I still remember sitting in my college apartment and talking with Lorri Wilkinson about what she had. By the weekend, I was on my way to her farm in Nebraska to take a look. We walked up to a group of wiry weanlings in a pen and she was mine by the time she finished her first pass.

Since then she’s probably taught me more about training than I’ve taught her. Most notably, she has a stop that’d rival some of the top reiners out there, so you’d better be prepared when you say woah or you’ll end up on the ground. Her name mirrors her heart; golden

Kitty delivered her first foal early this morning. A beautiful black c**t with nearly identical markings to his mom. Both are doing great and already have a strong bond!
