Stand Up for Animals is an online portal for information sharing and interaction about National Shelter Reform and solving the pet overpopulation / shelter overcrowding crisis in the USA. We are faced with a national crisis of overcrowded Government run animal shelters, many of which are undertaking practices which are not only inhumane and ineffective but even in breach of animal welfare legislat
ion. Our online interactive web portal, or “hub”, will focus special attention on curbing the source of shelter overpopulation/intake and greatly improving shelter operations; to replace one-shelter-at-a-time reform with broad, coordinated, and simultaneous reform supported by animal advocates in local communities all across the U.S.; to provide forums, topics and discussion threads for broad two-way exchange of ideas and experiences (with optional anonymity); and, to build a searchable repository of information, shelter “best practices” and methods to successfully drive change. Together, we will stand up for the animals.
