It is with great sorrow that I have to announce that Atticus passed away on December 13, 2023. He joined our family on 30 January, 2015 and at that time, PAW (Partnership for Animal Welfare, in Maryland) told us that he was six or six and a half. So he must have been between 15 and 16 yrs old, which is quite respectable for a chocolate lab. He suffered from arthritis and, therefore, had difficulties walking like he used to. In the end, his muscle mass was affected and he had very weak legs. When he was unable to get up and had to eat lying down we decided to ask the vet to give him a shot. He died very peacefully, in my arms, as I caressed him. He was an amazing, sweet, loving dog. I still have tears in my eyes as I write this. We will always love you, Atticus.
