Very sad to read of the passing of Barbara Slane-Fleming, but at 103 she had a good innings. Along with Lady Joicey, she helped so many of us in with our horses and our careers. A truly great lady and she truly understood horses.

Credit where credit is due. I emailed Network Rail last weekend to ask them to remove the ragwort from their land beside the field where my ponies graze. All cleared yesterday. Very grateful to them.

Amber went pole dancing today and had a lovely time. She's very grown up now and cantered straight down the line of poles in the middle.

Although he's a lovely and hopefully talented pony, I have struggled to get Pipit to cope with the world around him. It only needs another horde to appear or a sheep living in the wrong place for him to turn into a snorting dragon and to switch off communication with me. That's not safe on the road and a potential problem to other competitors at competitions. So today I've dropped him off at 'special needs school' with Cooper Wilson - The Yorkshire Horseman to see if he can help Pipit cope with the world around him.

Our local agricultural merchant has just told me the cost of sheep and cattle feed is falling.
What a surprise that the cost of horse feed is not falling!!

Pipit actually got to do his first dressage test today. Life, Covid and a slight lameness means his education has been more stop than start, but today he actually completed two tests at High Plains Equestrian Centre .
Thanks to Julie Jools Howard for providing a very relaxed, easy atmosphere and Vicky Hutchinson for coming to help.

'Amber' ('How Quizzical') 10 years apart. Last week at West Moor Farm Equestrian dressage and 10 years ago at the Futurity Grading.
She given me quite some challenges (and bruises) in those years, but now I wouldn't swap her for the world. ❤️

Huge thank you to Scott Mitchell Veterinary Care Equine Surgery for organising a pasture management evening tonight with their laminitis group. My head is still spinning but learnt more in a couple of hours than many years of studying for exams. Thanks also to Selby and Clare North Lewis at the Rhino Arena for hosting.
