08-28-24 *REUNITED* Sally from Dennis is home! After only a few sightings and nervous about her dragging her leash, her owners hired drone service to check the brush and found her tangled up. So many folks helped over the 7 days: Robert B. who generously printed flyers, Mary Ann who gave us access to her property, Megan who helped MDM rebait trap, Jean who hung flyers, Sam who flew drone, Dennis Police and Fire who went into brush to get Sally, Dennis ACO's Lori and Joanna who worked alongside MDM volunteers Jill, Andrea, Deb, Donna and Stacey to bring Sally to safety. It takes a village! Welcome home Sally!!

Besides all the hard work Scoobie puts in just being gorgeous, he also has worked as a foster brother, helping some other bassets get ready to go on to their forever homes. WOW! The New England Basset Hound Rescue Calendar Contest has now come to an end! What an amazing contest it was, bringing in an amazing $7,195 that will go to help so many bassets in need! Thank you all for your participation, and a big congratulations to our TOP DOGS, W***y Wonka with 1,491 votes and Augustus Lee and Re*****on Grant with 1,306 votes! These gorgeous pups will be crowned Top Dogs at this year's Bassetpalooza! The basset that will grace the cover of the 2025 calendar will be announced soon!

We have MORE exciting news to share! Miss Nelly has been adopted! This sweet little bassador now spends her time getting loved on by her new family and hanging out and playing with her new labradoodle sister (see video of tuggies hilarity in comments). What fun! Happy tails, Nelly!

When he's not hanging out with his new beagle/basset mix brother or playing fetch with his new mom, Copper is spending his time taking over the hearts of his new family, as well as their couches. Vote for CLIFFORD, LUNA and JAX! Clifford, Luna, and Jax are all foster failures from NEBHR. Luna and Jax live in the same house and enjoy their daily walks and watching the neighbors from their post on the deck (someone has to keep an eye on things!) When not doing those things, they retreat to their couches where they are tucked in to rest for another day. Clifford (pictured on the left) passed away in 2022 and is missed daily. Vote for BEAU! Beau has been the light of his family's lives since he joined their family in 2017. On a cold day in November, they brought Beau home to their tiny apartment at the time and he has been the love of their lives ever since. He loves nothing more than playing ball in the back yard, going for walks, and snuggling on the couch at night. He gives his family endless amounts of love, and he considers peanut butter a food group! He is so gentle, yet can be so fierce-sounding, like a huge German Shepard behind a closed door protecting his family and alerting them of trespassers.. even if it is just the Uber Eats delivery!
