A bit about us
We are Darren and Becky, we decided to start this business to offer what we couldn’t find ourselves, affordable dog walking deals with that added extra! We LOVE dogs, since birth we have each never been without them and they make our family complete, when we met, we each had a dog, both named ‘Rocky’ so we have used their adorable nicknames ever since , Rue Rue our border collie,
now 6 and Chuff Chuff our Alaskan Malamute cross Belgian Sheepdog who is now 2 and both great big softy’s and best friends. As experienced dog owners and lovers, we know what your dog wants; to be outside playing and socialising with other dogs, getting muddy even and going home with a smiley face and a waggy tail and a nose full of fresh air. And as full time employed parents of our Boys, we know what you want, happy pooches getting regular walkies even when you don’t have the time, the knowledge that your precious puppy’s are in safe loving hands and not breaking your bank, to relax after work and watch your little bears twitching, dreaming of the fun they have had with us and their new friends. With Becky growing up in Manchester in a family with retired race dogs, and rescue dogs, and Darren in Yorkshire with the beauty of the countryside at his fingertips and a house full of pets we have always been fond of the outdoors, and gotten used to camping with faces full of fur! Our dogs have the run of our home and we wouldn’t have it any other way, they also enjoy Becky’s nutritious home-made dog food and treats. We will be giving up our full time employment and dedicating ourselves to making our adventure a success and our dreams realities. About the Walkies
Your precious pooch will be collected from your house in our 4 cage van for safe transportation to our chosen play area, a woodland with plenty of space, we choose only the safest places, not busy and not near any roads, but somewhere for maximum enjoyment and plenty to sniff, we would always favour forests, woodlands and riverbanks over a local park. Your pup will be collected along with 3 other local and compatible breeds and sizes, He / She will be integrated into the group slowly, allowing our hello sniffs and wags, and monitored closely. If we feel that either your dog or another dog does not fit the group, we may ask to change your time slot to a more compatible group of the day. We will not be accepting any aggression or overly dominating behaviour from any of our pooches, our number one priority is the safety of all our doggies and the enjoyment of all, so if we ask to shuffle our slots around then please help us :) We aim to have a regular rotation of dogs, so when your pooch has found the right group, we hope the group will continue play with us regularly and your pup can look forward to seeing his/her new friends each and every time. Your dog will be walked on a lead at least until we fully understand your dog’s recall nature, and only released for free walking with your consent, we will cover this and other behavioural notes in a short meet and greet before we start. Your puppy will play with us and his new friends for at least 50 minutes but usually an hour (we love it too! So no rush) before being dropped back at his home, with dried off feet belly and tail :)
If you have a coat you want him/her to wear, please leave it for us along with lead and any treats or snacks for when we get back home, we will make sure your pooch has some nice fresh water in the van and when he/she is back at home. We may have some spare coats with us to fit if it’s an especially dirty or wet day. Whilst out on our rambles and adventures, we will take some piccy’s of our fun and upload them to our Instagram / Twitter/ Facebook so you can see your little loved ones while you are at work :) From time to time we will take some professional Photos which we will happily share with you. At these early stages we can offer only our group walks at our group prices, this is to build our core business to keep your price down and as we progress we will look to offer additional pet services, having said that, we are nice friendly people and if you need anything, ask us, we can always see what we can do for you :) We are not sub-letting the walkies out, we work for ourselves and we are not here to make money, just to enjoy our work and provide a great service to you! We have some family waiting in the wings if we have enough demand to operate a second van, we will. Your keys will be held by your dog walker Darren at all times and locked in a safe in our home outside of our working hours. They will be numbered/colour coded only as per our group references which is known only to us and no reference to your address will be with them. We treat your belongings and your home just as we would treat our own. For the safety of our pooches and ourselves, we will not be handling any known aggressive breeds and of course, all dogs are met at a quick home visit before we accept them, usually we will try to integrate them with our own 2 boys first to check on the friendliness.
