Dear all - all our volunteers are busy getting ready for the holidays - both for our families and our dogs.
Rescue never ends and sadly dogs need to be helped no matter what time of year. Recently one of our volunteers was approached about two dogs that were booked in to the vets to be put to sleep. Their crime? Their owner had passed and the family no longer wanted the dogs. The conditions they were kept in were appalling and they were rarely allowed out we honestly didnt think they were in the UK. We were really not sure if the rescue could take on the financial burden of more dogs, but we work with amazing people - and both our kennels and vets have stepped up and offered help!
Both dogs have lived together in that kennel - they have never been indoors, never been to the vet, never been to a groomer and never walked. Please welcome our two new Terrier SOS adoptables
Millie a collie is 12 years old - she is suffering with arthritis and will be getting a full health check soon. She is lovely and sweet and a typical collie - just wants to be with you - we are looking for a retirement home for her, somewhere that will let her live out the remaining days in comfort and warmth.
The other is a Patterdale Terrier - we are calling her Patsy as she should be a cast member in EastEnders! She is a typical Patterdale - energetic, feisty and cannot live with another dog. She is doing well in kennels and we are slowly seeing if she will be ok on lead with other dogs out of the house. She is alert around dogs as such a work in progress. She is 7 years old and a lovely fun terrier. She wants to be with you and is great with people - she has skin issues (may be diet related) and will be getting a full health check soon.
Both dogs need vaccinations and to be speyed along with further assessments. They could go to foster homes in the new year, but they will need support making that adjustment. Dogs never fail me and I know they will make wonderful companions.

What’s that I hear you say?, it’s Griffins birthday today?! Please join us in wishing Griffin a very happy birthday 🥳.
Griffin is one of our very special boys who lives in long term foster care due to his complexities. Never receiving the correct socialisation and stimuli at key stages he struggles with every day life. Our dedicated foster keeps his world small, helping him gain confidence and enriching his life so he can learn that it doesn’t have to be so scary.
This is where your support goes, making sure that all the dogs in our care have their needs met and we never turn our back on them, no matter how challenging they may be (well they are terriers!).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRIFFIN!! 🥳❤️🐶.

Hello all - we have another wonderful update - this little girl arrived in the UK in the early hours today. Please say Hello to the Magnificent Millie. She was an unwanted pet in Romania and ended up being dumped in the pig sty along with her Dachshund companion (he has been adopted separately). She has made her way to the UK and is looking for her forever home.
What we know ... she is about 3 years old, she is dog friendly, she loves to play with her toys, not used to living in a home - wants to be with people but is still timid and gets very excited - so will need a calm home that will support her and let her become the beautiful companion we know she is. She is small sized (about 9 kilos)

She is in Norfolk and any prospective home will need to be prepared to visit. If you are interested in adding this sweet soul to your family - please complete a Homing Questionnaire.

We’ve had a busy month here at terriersos HQ, three dogs have been rehomed! 🥳 .
That’s three families who now get to share their lives with a new best friend and that’s three dogs who now have their happily ever after 🥰🐶.
Thank you to our hardworking volunteers who made this happen and thank you to our supporters, this is why we rescue, this is why your support means so much 🫶🏻🐶❤️.

Terrier SOS would love to thank all the wonderful Welshies and their owners that attended the Stinkeye event in Wales. We are humbled by the absolute generosity of the attendees and the fact that you have raised £3000 for Terrier SOS. We cannot express how much this will help us and our dogs - we are a small rescue and are honoured that you have chosen us for your kindness! Thank you! — with Nadia Hayton.

Terrier SOS would like to celebrate and honour the life of this wonderful lady and terrier lover - Gillian (‘Gill’) Parkin. Gill was a wonderful supporter of Terrier SOS and raised funds and awareness for our dogs - both through the selling of the Lakeland Calendar and social media and just highlighting the work we do. We would like to send our deepest sympathies to all her friends and family - the love of dogs is a very special bond and we are humbled that such an amazing person gave her time and energy for our rescue and helping some very special terriers,
The photo is Gill with her beloved Lakeland Terrier Millie.
Thank you from all of us at Terrier SOS.

I think we can all relate to that 😂.

Dear all - this is the Magnificent Millie - she was an unwanted pet and she was abandoned in a pig sty with her Dachshund companion - they were there for a long period of time until the amazing volunteers got her and brought her to kennels. We have agreed to take her under our wing and we would like very much to bring her to the UK - so we are looking for a foster / adoption.

What we know - she is young and sweet - a terrier cross - approx 3 years old. she is dog friendly , likes people - we dont know how much of home life she has had - but we know she will be a wonderful friend in the right home.

So please say Hello to our new girl ... and if you want to open your heart and home to her - please head on over to terriersos.com and get in touch!

Losing a beloved companion is hard and everyone heals at their own speed, we often say never again as the pain and grief is too much to bear but sometimes helping out a lost soul can help heal that broken heart 💔 ❤️🥰🐶.

They say good things come in small packages and we think in Sally’s case this is very true! Using the internationally recognised tool of measurement (a banana 😜😂) you can really see Sally’s small stature. Weighing in at around 3kg she is a pocket size bundle of love. Sally is good around other dogs and enjoys nothing more than being close to her humans (even at bed times) Sally is in foster in Norfolk and is looking for her forever sofa - she doesn’t take up much space and would make a great companion - read more about Sally at www.terriersos.com .

Hello all - we are always busy behind the scenes - and our volunteers continue to work with the dogs - and we are behind in the updates - so our apologies!
Lets start with Nelson - this is the lovely Nelson - he is such a cute boy - we had a trip to the home of one of our volunteers - this is to assess what he can and cannot cope with in a home environment - he coped really well - he seems to have some knowledge of home sounds - and was not put off by washing machines or the regular hub bub noises of a home. - he is still sensitive to some sounds but we feel that with a slow introduction to family life he would be able to cope.
He loves people and wants to be with you - but he has suffered at the hands of people - so he is a little shy and can be nervous of new and unusual sounds - he will dart away - he always wants to come back for more cuddles but it is at his pace. As an example - my keys jangled and this made him jump - he did come back for head rubs - but I needed to give him patience and space - he will need support and reassurance
Nelson also loves his toys and sniffaris! A little video of him at kennels having some fun He does get excited though and can become a bit jumpy - so that will need to be managed - but he is very biddable and we feel he is ready for his new home (provided they meet his needs) - he cannot live with small furries and young children - but he is ready for his new home! If you are interested - please contact me via pm or complete a Homing questionnaire available on our website
