Unfortunately it was pretty cloudy today (after having blue skies and sunshine for the past three days 🙄) BUT the total solar eclipse was still very impressive! We were in the path of 100% totality and it was dark for almost 3 minutes.

On 01/27/2015 Paul found you in that ditch on Sunset Rd in Lehigh… A lot of lives changed that day!

You had an instant bond with Pablo our White Shepherd. He taught you so much…

To the day exactly one year later Pablo crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 01/27/2016.

We love and miss you guys so so much…

As this Christmas is slowly coming to an end I want to tell you about this year‘s Christmas miracle.

We would like to introduce you to Jack.
Jack is a GSD/Husky mix and most likely close to a year old. And he is sooooooo handsome! And such a good boy!!! But let‘s start at the beginning…

A few weeks ago we started seeing a beautiful shepard mix at the local Animal Control almost every time we went there to get fuel for our ambulances. We live in a relatively small town close to Buffalo, NY and the dogs that end up at AC usually have very little exposure to potential adopters. The dog got used to these EMS people stopping by and saying hi to him and rumor has it some even brought him treats… We started talking about the dog and tried to find him a home.
A few days before Christmas I got word that one of my coworkers had gone to AC to play with the dog and ended up adopting him that very same day.
Bri you are my hero and I can‘t think of a better home for Jack! 😍❤️😘
Jack now has a Yorkie brother whose name is Zero! ❤️❤️❤️
I‘m sure they will be best buds in no time and I will keep you guys posted on how Jack and Zero are doing!
Jack, one thing is for sure you definitely hit the jackpot with your new family!!! 😁😍😇

Four years ago today (can’t believe it’s been four years already…) you joined our family. You fit right in and quickly became the leader of our pack (well yeah we all know that Picasso is the secret leader of the pack 😼).

You still hate Thunderstorms and I’m really sorry that we had one (quick in quick out couple rumbles and gone) today but I promise there will be a piece reserved for you from that chicken that is roasting in the oven right now! 😋

Sunset was brought to GCHS where the decision was made to save her life. Sunset's journey captured the hearts of the public, as she beat the odds through her months of recovery.

Sunset's story exposed the dirty and brutal underbelly of dog fighting in the area and Patti captures the essence of Sunset's brave and heartfelt journey.

Patti is generously donating a portion of the proceeds to the shelters featured, including Gulf Coast Humane Society!

So a few days ago I decided it was time for a new cat bed I mean dog bed well whatever you wanna call the pet bed in Rambo’s favorite place at the window… 🤣 So I ordered one on amazon and we couldn’t wait for it to get here to see if Rambo would accept it…

Well it was an easy transition thanks to jealousy… 🤣
As soon as the new bed was delivered the old bed was replaced and Rambo was NOT a fan…
So Blue decided he might as well take over the rejected object…
Of course Rambo couldn’t let that happen and decided the new bed wasn’t that bad after all…

So this is something that has been in the making for years but it finally happened!!!

We are VERY proud to share the news with you that Sunset‘s story is a part of Patti Kerr‘s new book Magical Dogs 3!!!

We met Patti in 2016 and always stayed in touch through the years and last year she told us that Magical Dogs 3 was in the making!

I had the honor to write down Sunset‘s story which was a challange in many ways. As many of you might know English is not my first language but we‘ve been living here in the U.S. for more than a decade now so I guess I did a pretty decent job… 😇 Also it was very very emotional to relive some of the most touching moments we had with our Sunnybaby…

We are incredibly proud and feel honored and very blessed to hold this book in our hands today. Thank you Patti for making us a part of this! It means the world to us! 😘

Four years ago today you joined our family.
We got up at 4 am to meet Haley and the transport at 5. Your skin was in a horrible condition and we started your medical baths right away and within a few weeks the mange healed and your skin and fur were healthy and beautiful.
From day one it felt like you had been a part of our pack forever, you fit right in, the boys fell in love with you right away, especially Blue. 🤩🥰😍
You quickly became our little princess and made us whole again. Not one single moment did it ever feel weird or wrong that you had come to us so shortly after Sunny had passed away. The exact opposite was the case… You helped us to overcome that unbearable pain and emptiness and we knew it was Sunny who had sent you, watching over us and keeping her promise… ❤️❤️❤️

In loving memory of Oscar/Ozzie

He came to us for a short two day stay until his foster was ready to take him in. He was one of the dogs that came from Louisiana and was on the same transport as Gracie.
Oscar only stayed with us for those two days but I stayed in touch first with his foster Mom in Naples and then he found his forever family and I never lost contact with his Mom Kristen Rae Auld
Oscar was renamed Ozzie which I think was the perfect name for him. Unfortunately Ozzie has passed away from cancer last year. RIP my friend! Gone but not forgotten! ❤️❤️❤️

Four years ago today we went out for dinner. It wasn‘t just any dinner… It was the dinner where we had to make the decision about fostering Gracie… I had talked to Haley multiple times during that day and I had told her she would get a decision when we‘d be back from dinner… So The Joint it was (one of our favorite restaurants at that time) where the decision was made to give it a chance… Sunny had just died not even a month ago but I knew it was her guiding us just like I had asked her to do… I called Haley and told her we‘d take Gracie and we agreed to meet her the next morning. Gracie was part of a transport that came out of a partnering shelter in Louisiana and we met in the early morning hours the next day. We also took in Oscar for two days who came from Louisiana and had a foster lined up in Naples. Oscar was adopted by a wonderful family but unfortunately has since passed away from cancer.

Thank you Haley and Southern States Bully Rescue and all the drivers that made that transport possible

Thank you Alexandra Santiago for saving Gracie‘s life in the first place! ❤️❤️❤️

Another year has gone by…
Another year without you…
Another post I make about your passing…
We still miss you so much…
It still hurts so much…

But something was different this past year. I had the honor to write down your story! Your story will be one chapter in Patti Kerr’s new book that will be published soon!!! I cried a lot while writing… I am sooooo grateful I was given the opportunity… And I can’t wait to hold this book in my hands… You are still changing the world… I love you and I’m so proud to be your Mom…

Alaska on the way home from his recheck at the vet this afternoon. He had two growths in his mouth removed and they also pulled the two teeth close to these growths two weeks ago. Today we got the pathology results back and everything was benign! 👍👍👍

Tonight our hearts go out to Maik Zikan and his family as they are grieving the loss of their beloved Grizzly. They got Grizzly as a young pup and it was a challenge to integrate him into their family but they did an absolutely amazing job and Grizzly could not have asked for a better family. Grizzly was born blind but that didn‘t keep him from being a happy puppy living his best life. Unfortunaly Grizzly started having back and spine problems a few years ago and despite getting the best care and going through multiple surgeries there was no cure. Today Grizzly crossed the Rainbow Bridge surrounded by his family and pack.
Run free Grizzly and give Sunny a kiss from us!
Although we never met Grizzly we know he was a special boy. It is always hard to let our furbabies go but with some it is just so much harder because they are very special.
Maik, our thoughts are with you and your loved ones tonight as we know how much it hurts…
