Meet Mochi! Thanks to Sanoran Pomskies for this lovely boy to add into our bloodlines, for our future revived breeding program. We are considering breeding Mochi with one or some of the girls we have had in Guardian homes.

How we came to be and who we are.
My name is Danielle Kemper. I started showing dogs in AKC conformation in 1997. Quickly I discovered my passion, and something I had a natural talent and skill for. Connecting with animals had always come easily for me. While training dogs I learned I had a talent in it. What I thought was “simple,” I had learned many people had a hard time achieving getting their dogs to do. Sometime in the early 2000’s I felt comfortable calling myself a professional dog handler for these types of shows and sports. Training and handling for other kennels, and individuals dogs to compete, condition and be groomed for such exhibits was second nature for me.
My passion was always in the Nordic breeds. Spitz type working dogs. The Siberian Husky was the breed I started with in 1997 and produced litters from, pointing or championing many of my dogs offspring. Later in 2003 I went into professional pet grooming, and started my own dog grooming company sometime in 2010 or 2011. Called Awesome Pawz LLC. We service the Glendale, Phoenix and Peoria area of Arizona. This was around the early 2000’s and at about the same time I had been already involved in the Alaskan Klee Kai breed as a handler for 6 champions in the UKC. Also during this time and phase in my life I had moved to Texas for some time, where I acquired some hands on experience working with some exotic animals at a rescue and a breeders facilities. Specifically handling and working with young African Servals, Wolfdogs of different ages (lows, mids and highs) and many Wallabies. Eventually I moved back to Phoenix, Arizona and There were still some things about the Alaskan Klee Kai breed that for me, I disliked. So, I never ended up produced any klee kai litters and eventually left the breed entirely when I was involved in a car/pedestrian crash in 2008, (I was the pedestrian.)
About 2 years went by before I could start to really function again. The accident messed up my back worse then it was. Leaving me with bulging disks and injuries. Prior to that I already suffered from all over type chronic pain, and would randomly fall or twist my ankle from a fall. These were just things I dealt with and usually chalked them up to tripping on air, or a dog. - Today, they call that chronic pain Fibromyalgia. But when I was a kid it was “It’s just all in your head.” However, they now believe it is Lupus. Whatever it is, It sucks and we can leave it at that. I also am hypoglycemic and have used a service dog for alerting me to drops in my blood sugar levels for some time. So I am no amateur when it comes to needing to have a very well trained dog to be so on point your life very literally depends on it.
As time moved on, and I was out of showing dogs due to the accident, I had started to really think about what I wanted to get involved in. Return to Siberian Huskies? What about Klee Kai? ...Nah. I realized I was feeling better and was hoping to rejuvenate my life with something I deeply enjoyed but hadn’t been able to dedicate enough time to. - That, being working with some of the exotics back in Texas. In time, I became involved working with High Content Wolfdogs. I was able to get some more hands on experience, and bought a pair from a fabulous man and ambassador for the “breed.” Alongside him, I socialized my young pair of animals and one of the two had the makings for a great ambassador herself. She enjoyed meeting people, going places and showing off the wonders of what they are, and what they are not. Helping to educate people about why their wild cousins still needed our protection. This magical moment in my life lasted for a good few years, and I had hoped it would for many, many years. This was prior to being actually informed the doctors believed I had Lupus. Some point into these great years with the wolfdogs I started really finding it hard to get out just as often as I needed to partake in the ambassador work with them. Then.. One summer my kidneys started having some serious issues. I was in the hospital and ER almost weekly for almost half that year. There were some scary moments, and by the year after.. I realized I couldn’t get the animals out to ambassador programs like I should be able to. They still received plenty of good home care, enrichment, exercise in a huge run yard and such.. but that was all thanks to my husband, roomate and friends who would help me as much as they did.
I made a few phone calls to the breeder and friend of mine, and we had the wolfdogs moved to another breeder and educational ambassador who owned their grandparents and was hugely active in educational work with wolfdogs. If it wasn’t for my medical condition today, I absolutely would still be entirely active with those majestic and wonderful animals.
During the time I was active in wolfdogs, I had started a side project with just 1 male Pomsky and 1 Female Pomsky. I had been intrigued by this “Designer” mutt dog breed. They looked much better then Klee Kai to me (at least most of them.) As many Pomsky didn’t have nearly as buggy eyes as many klee kai’s I see. Their bone structure seemed thicker, sturdier, and the temperaments the small handful of breeders had been reporting back in the day when there were only a small number of breeders working.. sounded interesting.
I came into the Pomsky world with an eye for structure. Having an ability to watch a dog move and see past their fur and muscles to their skeletal figure and form, has been something I have been capable of doing since my dog show days. Having a twinge of artistic talent I strongly believe helps as well. This helped me to start selecting dogs I wanted in my program. Once I had owned my male and female, I was hooked on the breed, and I wanted to get to know the temperaments of them more. My first breeding was my female to a outside stud. I kept a female puppy from that litter, and over the years have built up a type, size and style I am starting to like. The temperaments are perfect and we are working on health screenings through out our line.
Today, I breed Pomskies and what some peopke refer to as “Pomsky x” which is a pomsky to a outcross spitz breed. Such as a Shiba inu, or American Eskimo. 2017 Had all Pomsky x Pomsky bloodline breedings and 2018 has been Pomsky to Shikai blood. Adding a shikai (Shiba Inu x Alaskan Klee kai) has helped me tighten up the ears to a shorter more refined ear set and size, given me better bone, and helped me rid my offspring (mostly) of the overly wooly pom coat. Some kennels love the wollies, I don’t fancy it personally, so You will be hard pressed to find it in my line as much.
I also still own Awesome Pawz Grooming, which my husband works daily. My disability with chronic pain has seemed to increase over the last year and battles with stress caused me to limit how much I took on. Occasionally, I will take on, or assist someone with a disability in training, or learning t train a dog to help them in their day to day life. Learning tasks, and correct obedience to operate in the hussle and bussle that is the world we live in today.
We breed twice a year. Once in the late summer/fall and once again in the late winter/early spring. I have a handful of pomskies, and I rotate between who will be bred when, and to what sire. Our daily and living money comes from dog grooming only. Any money made from pomsky sales goes back into the pomskies, while additional money goes towards rescuing horses from the Kill Pens in texas. (We have 8 horses we have rescued from the kill pen and you can visit them if you come to see our guys. Along with their tag # and all kill pen sales info and vet proof of care.) For me, Pomsky breeding is a hobby and a project. I am in love with these small dogs, and it gives me a small flash back to when I got to be so very active and doing what I just adored. Which was showing dogs and raising them. Every breeding is an experimental one. Even with purebred dogs, you can only ‘hope’ to get what you want when you match a pair together for breeding. My goal is to create a foxy/wolfy/coyote looking little dog and a miniature husky looking little dog out of the same line. I believe it is possible along the route I have set for myself and the standard I set forward for my own bloodline to follow.
Beyond Looks I feel, they must be Intelligent, Outgoing, Friendly (but can be reserved towards strangers.) They should never be aggressive nor so shy they seem skittish. They should have a fast recovery when something startles them. This “breed” should single tract and move effortlessly across the ground at a trotting gait. They should be between 11” and 15” at the shoulder. Eyes should oval with the more almond shape desired. Eyes can be of any coloration from browns, blues to a hazel/green. Parti, marbled and bi eyes are not faulted. Any coloration of the coat is accepted. A Plush or ‘carpet’ coat more resembling that of a Siberian husky is desired. Tails are desired to have a fox brush appearance and texture to them. Later I will publish my own standard for the version I am working towards. Some day my line will no longer be called a “Pomsky.” As I am working towards creating a foxy type look-a-like DOG that people can own as a pet. However, while this is still very much in it’s first decade, and the breeds I am currently using ARE Pomeranian, Siberian Husky, Shiba Inu and Alaskan Klee kai combos, My dogs are still referred to as Pomsky or Shikai Pomskies Or Pomsky x. these would all be the correct terms for my little mix breed kids.
If you are interested in owning one of my project puppies, please do contact me. Text is usually best, at (602) 466-8387. They range in price from 1,200. to 3,500. Prices are dependent on size, structure, type, color, and weather he/she is a pet or non pet quality type puppy. Occasionally I MIGHT have something that is just not at all fitting in my standard offered at below 1,200. This might be of the dog has a overly wolly coat, or seems to large, or to small, or presents with something else I do not see fitting my ideal for the project. It never hurts to ask. I also want to work within peoples budgets when I can as my goal isn’t to ‘get rich’ from these guys. It is to find them great homes with people who will keep me updated on the babies so that I can use that data in my long term goal with the ‘breed.’
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about who I/we are, and how we got here.
